Thanks! Your video is a lot more helpful than the crappy set-up instruction sheet that came with the lock. The lock itself would work well for passing through a scupper hole to secure a kayak in back of a parked pickup, or locking kayak to a tree when dropping a vehicle downstream for the shuttle.

Looks like a nice lock. I have some plastic coated cables with crimped end loops and padlocks that are years old. Originally marketed for bicycles.

Seen this crappy lock at work. It was abandoned by the owner. You don't need power tools to cut it. Just a small pair of wire cutters that fit in your pocket.
