Yes. It was something he took out of his right pocket @ 3:27 and he was holding it in his right hand until the end of the trick. That's why he's babbling fast and telling jokes so he can defer the attention away from what he's doing the background.

And the name thing.. well it's too loose to assume that that was actually mind-reading.
What you're not told is that Lior goes through a rehearsal with the participants before the show. For example, to get the name of a first love he has the person write the name down on his special pad of paper which transfers the name to the sheet of paper below. He tells them to not show him, but he can then read the name off his pad before the show starts.

Shades of Kreskin. Every now and then a lucky person comes along. But, as always, if he is this good, why is he not rich from the casinos or that other gambling device the stock market. Why waste his time making scale on TV shows. Must have a tremendous memory. Yes, he has the talent but it is not anything supernatural. He combines many talents of the magician, the cold reader and a tremendous memory which he combines to produce a show. And, of course, people like to be fooled.
