As someone who played this game for years back in the 90's (and off and on since then) it is good to see it being rediscovered today and recognized for the gem it is. There are many tips I could give you to streamline / speed up your gameplay but I think it is fun to discover them on your own. However there are a couple I think I should mention: When colonizing a planet in the same system you do not need an expensive colony ship; you can do it using a cheaper colony base (top right corner of construction screen). And the other one is the scout ship comes with extended range so I would build one and scout all the planetary systems in range before picking where to establish my first colony. You don't have to settle for the first habitable planet you encounter. P.S. At this difficulty level the Repulsive trait may not be so bad but at higher difficulties it means you will spend most of your time at war with everyone. I personally don't like it as diplomacy can be very useful but this is just an FYI

Yeah it's a pretty good game. Thanks to the community patch the AI is a lot better specially in how they attack. I didn't know about the colony base so I'll do that next time after seeding a system. I'm fine at going to war with everyone. It's what I do in Stellaris. I know MOO2 actually has good diplomacy but I just enjoy wiping everyone out. Next time thinking of removing lithovore and going with something else. I am fine with producing food. Thanks for the tips and hope you end up enjoying the gameplay :)
