The score of this film is amazing. There is a machine like noise in the background, indicative of the relentless pursuit of the master against his enemy, like a machine, that will never stop.
This was an awesome classic. Any fans of old kung fu movies have to check out this flick. I remembered seeing it for the first time on KTLA's "Kung Fu" theater and i was blown away by the trailer.
Man listen...I remember seeing this as a trailer at the cinema 1 downtown Milwaukee with my cousin and brother in 1977!... that shit was mind blowing then and still Is. We sat through 3 kung-fu movies that saturday...what memories!
I remember watching this with my pops on Kung Fu theatre (aired on saturday afternoons) on channel 9 in los angeles...memories beautiful cjildhood memories!!!take me back!!!
I don't know what made me think of this movie..but it was one of my favorites when I was a kid back in the 70's..I remember it coming on Kung Fu Theatre on Channel 9 on saturdays in Los Angeles.. I saw it in black & white back then..its good to see it posted here...brings back memories.
Heh, fun to find old roots, whether they be parallels or obscure muse material. I recently flipped through an old multiple-path story book called Usurper! (Way Of The Tiger) where there was a "ninja" style "Temple of Mortal Combat". I first came across the the Raiden look in an arcade game called Legend Of Kage.
KTLA showed some good stuff on late night tv back in the day. KHJ channel 9 and KCOP?? channel 13 also showed stuff like UFO/Bigfoot movies and things. In fact, If I remember correctly, Kung Fu Theatre may have been on KHJ channel 9 along with Elvira-Mistress of the dark. This was in the LA area. Cool memories man. This movie was a classic.
I love this movie. I learned about Muay Thai through this movie when I was 11. Now I have been training Muay Thai for 3 years. Thanks master of the flying guillotine
I been looking for this movie! I remember seeing this on a Saturday during a Kung Fu marathon when I was a kid. The one character that I remember is the Indian guy that could stretch his arms. Today this movie reminds me of a cross between Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter games.
i first saw this movie about a year ago and i loved it.the low budget didnt bug me at all the story was great... with todays technology and special effects this would make a great remake if it was presented by the right director
I actually remember seeing this movie as a kid (I am 42). The Boondocks made me laugh thinking back to my childhood with all of the "old-head" references. I will bet that young adults would probably have to ask their parents about or Google.
One of the best kung fu movies ever...... It was these types of movies that inspired my films ...... "Challenge of the Baddest" . "The Hitman" . "Death of a Dragon" and the soon to be uploaded "Dragon's Revenge".
note to self: do not mess with people combining long, whitish beards, blindness, old age and freakish eyebrows. indicative of max level badassery. chances of success: slim to none. only known information: will enter and leave through the wall or roof and wiggle with eyebrows and ears before performing devastating, high-precision attacks with weird weapon.
thanks for the info, I was well aware of that fact, the swastika's earliest known origin is in Ancient India, the oldest discovered artifact with the swastika dates back to about 3500 bc, and was found in northern India, near the modern Pakistani border, of course the swastika has been found in cultures around the world, from India, to Egypt, even ancient Sumeria, and of course the Buddhist culture of India brought the symbol to northern and Eastern Asia. I was jk'n, I major in ancient hist.
I'm not sure how you learn "Buddhist" and remember "American Indian", but there you go. On-topic, this trailer is incredible, and despite the buzzkill in the top comments, a remake would blow the world's collective minds.
@@falkenfluegel MAN thank you for reminding me of my failures XD Lol jkjk. Been super invested in music the last decade but I would still love nothing more than to get into Hollywood biz and MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
Things of that you can find in videogames: The knife-hat guy from the new Mortal Kombat, Dhas´lsim from Street Fighter, The mystirious Battle seems to appear in Mortal Kombat too...
I may have watched that very channel then, I lived in Ocean Side around that time. I also remember seeing Magnificent Bodyguards on Kung Fu theater too, long beofre I knew who Jackie Chan was.
He comes from beyond time... From beyond the other limits of your imagination. He's the Master of the Flying Guillotine... and he's ready to blow your mind. With more nerve shattering special-effects than you have ever seen before. It's a trip into a world where warriors from the ends of the universe meet in combat that knows no boundaries. A world where silent soldiers of death try everything in their power to conquer the most gruesome weapon ever conceived. See special visual effects filmed entirely in Super Cine Vision as the Master of the Flying Guillotine encounters the most amazing creatures in this or any world... As he experiences the most spectacular adventures the mind can imagine. "The Master of the Flying Guillotine".
the first time i saw this film it was a dvd rip and my friends brokeass dvd player had problems, but the problem only made it more badass there was a slowdown in framerate randomly between 3-5 sec for the whole movie, the bar scene where the drunk gets decap'd was especially fkin awesome, funny film especially if enjoyed with drink
..I remember watching this movie when I was about 13 at the all day Kung fu marathons at the neighborhood movie theater for $3. I thought it was one of the corniest movies ever, but now realize it's a classic. I actually bought the DVD about 5 yrs ago for my Kung Fu movie collection. The best part of the movie is the fight scene at the end. The ironic thing, is this movie is based on a true story LOL :O
