I love the video about lighting, but can you go into placement of the lighting? I've got a bunch of studio lighting-soft boxes and I'd like to know more about how to light the subject. When do you use natural lighting vs. artificial lighting? Also, I would really like to learn about lenses. What do the numbers mean, exactly? Composition in graphic design means: EVERYTHING. How do you put it all together. Zac breaks it down so well. This guy is genius
The timing of this video is just impeccable! So informative, going on a binge of lightroom editing videos right after this one:D Everything seems so easy to understand and actually use on my own work!
Hi Zac, I enjoyed your video, I found it helpful. I have been struggling with main images for my Amazon product. Your texture and background section gave me a few ideas. Amazon requires a white background, your idea of placing the product on different texture is a good one. I ordered the background texture. I guess the only thing I would have liked would be some ideas or general rules on arrangement of the shot. Feel free to recommend anything or any videos that may help. Thanks. Bob
Not related, but are you using your "Rode VideoMicro Mic" just mounted on the camera? The audio sounds amazing. When I do it, that way, I tend to have a lot of echoes.
Yes, I use the rode video micro. I normally have it mounted on a separate desk arm or a mic stand when I’m recording videos so that I can as close as I can to my mouth while just having it out of frame. That normally helps reduce some of the echos. I also use a little bit of noise suppression to cut out other bits of room noise.
Thanks! Oh and btw I also put together a video about getting good audio. You may find it useful 😉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PvXIW0IG5K4.html
I use both... LED mostly for video, but some for product photography. I find I really have to drag the shutter using LED for photography if I want to keep the ISO as low as possible. It takes a lot for an LED to match the output of strobe, but I'm only using the Amaran lights.
