Are these types of drill mainly to condition your dexterity and arms? Or are thry supposed to be used in combat?

You are doing this great!! I learn Philippino double Sinawali stick fighting too!! I have a question though. Can you do these drills fast while incorporating footwork? My teacher has me do these drills, but I have to do them while moving around the room using different footwork and go from standing up to on my back. I was just curious if we learned the same way.
