When I'm scouting an exfil during solo, I like to provide cover for other solos too! Need to look out for each other. I have had people not understand this and turn and fire at me, but I usually have enough space that I can either return fire or just bug out and come back. Smoke and spotter scope are musts, like SiN says here.
Sick of players hunting with full load outs and plates. Go play warzone. Oh wait, they’re not good enough so you gotta third party people barely able to fight bots. Cooperation is encouraged!
Being a solo in the dmz is a hell most players will tire from after a week or two. but the thought of being on your own as a 1man army against the world is a concept I love and I think dmz does really well because I always find myself hopping into the dmz solo again and again. Being solo forces you to take a new perspective on combat because the smallest thing can kill you and you gotta plan out every small thing if you want to consistently get in and out alive down to the weapons you use and the positions which you use them in and even the utilities such as spotter scopes, smokes and everything else in between. I think a few quotes from the homeboy general Shepard applies quite well for dmz “Learning to use the tools of Modern Warfare is the difference between the prospering of your people and utter destruction” “Sure it matters who has the biggest stick, but it matters a helluva lot more who’s swinging it” In my opinion I think the dmz is an incredibly crafted mode that deserves more attention, if the developers fix all the bugs then I believe dmz will be better than even warzone.
if they just add their own from the ground up map thats larger with more players it would be great. Also make it more like escape from tarkov and other extraction shooters. Right now im pretty bored with it but it has a lot of potential if they actually do something with it.
@@curedham2963 I think the whole idea of DMZ was inspired by games like tarkov. Personally I think the maps are a little too big for the amount of players that are in it (32 total I think) however if bigger maps were made and player count increased to say… 60 then the map would be so large that the time limit for extraction would need to be increased aswell and I don’t think people want to play hour long games on an experimental mode that can kick you out randomly at any time
Being a solo in Tarkov is even more hellish but it's something that certain people love. I think DMZ will find its audience once they address the issues and it gets out of beta release.
I'm new to playing cod in general and 3/4 of my successful extractions have been solo because my team died early. Typically I follow the team and they get me killed because they rush into stuff. Once I'm alone and taking it slow and running from fights I "surprisingly" tend to live longer.
I really think you should cover the safest routes to avoid Ai.There are routes you can take to avoid everything and just loot.Safest stores to shop etc…..I have over 600 exfils maybe more just using safe routes and common sense.I memorized them from playing so much and it used to be a lot better until the last update where they changed the placement of ai.
I've exfilled over 250 times solo, and I always try to help people. It's about 50/50 within the game. Cool people wanna squad up and help and then you have your normal dbags who just wanna be dbags. DMZ is suppose to be fun, so depending on what you consider fun is what your gonna do.... hope to see you in there. If anyone wants to jump in and just have fun, hit me up.. ..
Great guide! One thing I would personally add, though: If you're confident/competent in your skills, you have nice gear (3-plate armor vest, med or large backpack, self-revive/revive pistol, etc.) and want to get out relatively safely, I HIGHLY suggest doing a Hostage Rescue contract! It's almost as game-changing for solo players as the spotter scope, lol. To make it easier, you can go to the area around the contract and look for the building that the hostage is in (usually marked by AQ flags, like a stronghold, and you can hear the hostage begging for their life from outside the building). Once you find the building, if it has windows look through them, and if you see any bad guys, you can shoot them through windows without them being able to do any damage to you. Repeat that until all the AI that you can see are dead, then get the contract, go inside, and complete the mission as usual. The helicopter that spawns in for the hostage rescue mission is hidden on the map to everyone but you, so there is a low risk of exfil campers ruining your day. I say "low risk" but there is still a risk, because people know this strategy now and evil people look and listen for these helicopters so that they can still come kill you.
Yeah great tip, indidnt mention it as when I put the poll up about this video, I had people saying I would be unoriginal and say do hostage rescue lmao It's a great way but can rely on rng of contract spawns and also the way AI is currently, as a solo I have died a few times from the t3 AI shotties chewing threw me in half a second lol
@@SiNisterFPS But yeah, I agree with everything else you've said in the video. I recently started running a suppressed sniper rifle (Victus XMR, best long-range sniper rifle in the game IMO) as my insured gun and it's awesome. You can pick packs of AI off without them getting aggro because you're so far away. I did die the other day while doing this, though, only because I may have gotten overconfident and tried going by Sattiq Caves because that exfil was the closest one. I picked like 3-4 T3 armor bois off and then as I was moving toward the hilltop where the exfil is they just randomly swarmed me and I died.
@@kasper_429 yeah man, snipers are just so good in DMZ. Testing the riot shield currently as it has some nice protection but it takes a slot, so been having the Sniper in stowed section when I need it
I’ve seen trios noticing that the hostage rescue mission has been taken, driving in and killing anyone doing the mission. Just saying it’s not s safe as it used to be.
Lately evacuating solo has been rough. I have seen waayyy more people camping them or WATCHING them from a distance and rolling in HOT n stealing your ride. No one cares if your friendly lol. Sat. Morning I tried to evac 3 Times in a row at same exfil w 3 min left. and each time had a duo or Trio Roll in as chopper landing n shoot at me while trying to hang on wing, run me over. Hell 1 I even swam away n said theu could have it...n they still chased me into water to kill me...ughhh rough. -Best way is IF there is a tower NEAR BY...To parachute ontop of chopper
Smoke at exfil is underrated. I almost always pop smoke near the helicopter before I sprint to exfiI also almost never come through the rear door. Always through the side.
Another tip I'd give people is to bring in a riot sheild as an insured weapon. Sure, your missing out on a gun that can be helpful in your dmz ventures but if you think about it, that is your entire backside protected from the crazy AI and potential players. I've used it, its helped me a million times. And it is absolutely mental in building 21 since you are at a very high risk of dying and the sheikd can save you. I'd also recommend using deployable cover field upgrade, it could be useful
Awesome video sinister - you've got me on to carrying a spotter scope, solo. I never go w / o one now. Solo, I often immediately get a vehicle and use that to get to where I want and clear a gas station near the target area for easy repair's and refills, but especially want the vehicle for the exfil. After making sure the exfil looks clear I literally drive around the exfil while the chopper is coming in (you're hard to hit, always moving, can provide your boarding area with some cover and you can back out fast if a team decides to crash things or is camping the exfil, plus during a mission if things get bad and you just need to get outa dodge, i.e. outa plates). I've often found buy areas to be relatively rare but mostly high on the danger list (definitely playing at a lower level than you, lol) - so don't normally hit them unless forced to, and instead bring a portable radar in (I think from one of your vids) which I toss down in the Heli after boarding so you can see if anyone is sneaking up and from where on the exfil. The increased lack of 3 plates in the game makes it more likely I'll have to start going to buy's some (wish I could store 3-plates).
Great information, portable radars are great yes. But I thought more about recon drone being more useful for people unconfident in scanning the exfils and also if you can buy a UAV or find one in a safe, then you can pop that when chopper lands to donthe same thing. But if you are confident with the spotter scope, then recon drone isn't needed and portable radar is then amazing choice
@@SiNisterFPS you’re totally right a recon drone is way better, I’ve just gotten killed so often at and around buy stations, I avoid them solo. Great video though.
Thank you for all you do SiN, always trying to think about everyone when it comes to the content your doing and the information like the recon drone and UAVs will help me a lot. I always forget to buy things from the buy station like that and your right, you get given basically the tools to get out easy each time.
good vid. FYI, not sure anyone in the comments or you your self know but when the 'Hunt Squad' mission icons turn from green to white, you are the last squad on the map. this helps exfil as well.
I approach the exfil point from about 150m away, watch it with a spotter scope for a while to watch for movement. Once I’m sure it’s clear I run in and trip it, set a mines, and bounce to a safe spot. Once the chopper lands is wait to the last minute. The mine has killed a few trying to snake my ride 😊
Precision airstrikes could be pretty nice to have in your pocket though. I take a more reckless approach to ex-filling by myself, and involves a spotter scope and a car. Go find a good spot and spot The landing zone and scan it then race down there in your car jump out pop it and drive around in circles until the thing lands and then jump on to the helicopter and run around in circles like a spastic until you take off. 95% success rate
This is my low rent strategy as well lol. Although I have exfilled by hanging on to the side of the helicopter if time was of the essence and the operators in side didn't see me.
@@kansascash that's some pretty sneaky cheeky stuff too. I ex-filled on the nose of the helicopter one time without shooting at the guys inside. Gave them a little "thanks for the ride" as the screen was fading 😂
Helpful video, I thought this was literally gonna be a video about using the hostage rescue escape. I have been sleeping on the spotter scope , I'm definitely gonna be running that from now on . Definitely subbing 👍
I really like your thoughts on pvp. At least 75% of the time i just want to play pve (missions and help mates with missions) and only do pvp if i have no choice but to fight. the other 25% I do the hunt squads, because at least they know your after them and they can choose to either run or fight.
My problem is finding a buy station not swarming with enemies to actually buy anything. Also that tower you used can be used to parachute onto the roof of the hotel with the gold deagle so you can drop through the skylight.
The guy u tried to help might have been me or someone like me. Was trying to complete the unarmed and dangerous mission recently, where u go in solo and try to exfil without any weapons or picking up any weapons. All u can do is call for the exfil helicopter and then run and hope for the best.
Yesterday I had a ruck full of loot at exfil. Some troll jumped on the front of the bird and eliminated my team. I didn’t realize until afterward, but this turd had been doing it to other teams because there was loot all over the exfil site. This is exactly why DMZ won’t have a dedicated solo que. There would be 5 players doing missions and 20 trolls sitting at exfil sites.
Smokes as a solo is a must for me! I can't 1 v 3 so usually I down and full a guy then run and pop a smoke to get the hell away from these hungry 3 man who think they're playing Warzone.
You get to know the drop areas more regularly as you experience the game. You can recon the area as you are getting closer, you know where the PVE is and where you can hide out and watch sometimes. If there is a chopper comming in or you see the green flare rise up then wait them out and watch. If you see no action other than some PVE on their part so much the better. Less PVE for you to deal with and a better chance that you will not encounter some PVP while waiting out your ride. Put the chopper entrance between you and any pve. Some Exfils are less populated with PVP ambush than others. Choose wisely if you can.
@@SiNisterFPS Actually the opposite for me. I havent found that exfil without PVP every time I been there but its ok if you wait your turn and stay out of the way. Guess its where the chips fall.
I'm new to cod in general, much less dmz. There's so many things, even basic controls that I don't know how to use or do and it seems like there is NOTHING anywhere telling you how to do something as simple as ping an enemy with a PS5 controller. Granted there are ways to do it and you CAN find it online but it's hell to find because you have to know what the thing you want to do is called then find it. I don't even know how to control many of the kill streaks. Hell I've died more times to trying to figure out how to do something in the middle of a firefight than I've died to being outgunned. So something like this telling me how to go about surviving a game mode is extremely useful
I swear I've never seen that particular extract point before, that would feel like a murder zone Thanks for giving tips that aren't just "use a hostage rescue" which isn't always a viable solution
@GhillieGoat I think I may have seen it in a dr lupo stream once, but honestly I as a manner of course avoid Sawa area extractions as a solo player. Amusingly I prefer the city recently especially with the ridic blue army that patrols the city proper if you can get situated and wait they kind of keep other players out/act as an early warning system
@GhillieGoat Yeah it can get you killed, but like you learn early on which ones are good, versus which ones are murder zones. But like the tips in the vid, you just watch action around a spot and have a bounce plan and you're mostly going to be fine mostly
Thanks for the video, good stuff for DMZ noobs especially. I love this game mode, it's a great solo and squad mode for sure. It kind of reminds me of older Ghost Recon games, and especially a pve mode where you had to defend buildings from hordes of bots, can't remember what it was called, but it was heaps of fun.
You see, I would have picked up the exfil to the east if we are showing the safe ones. Cause ok, you used spotter scope now and it was safe after the person but it's so open and that road has lot of player traffic which is worse since by the time you call in a heli and by the time it gets, you might get people and you are left either waiting it out or being sent to the lobby. On the east one you have view plus terain elevation after you call the heli. On top of it usually it's packed with AI that serve as your shield. And if worse comes to be and players contest the exfil you can land on top of the heli without them knowing or being able to do a damn thing. Thats basically what I try to emulate on all exfil if I am not looking for pvp. Have a clear view and a clean way to glide to the heli without the need to run any distance from my hiding spot.
Yeah thanks man I know they do, but I had self revives and didn't want the pistol because I didn't have any stow space at the time. The playthrough wasn't really to showcase looting spots, more just about getting set up for your exfil with the equipment I was talking about and importantly how to use them at the exfil. Appreciate the information though
I think once you're on the chopper you should be unkillable. It doesn't make sense that you can be on the chopper, then someone comes and kills you and the pilots are just okay with flying out the person who killed their payload lol!
I understand people getting upset when they die and lose everything, but you need to understand that dmz is pve and pvp mode, not just pve, ofcourse they will be players who hunt others and you can't get mad for that, it's part of the dmz, but anyway great content man
Only just found your channel having also just started playing the DMZ. Got any videos on how best to get started and ranking up etc. I’m pretty much solo, sometimes fandoms but I seem to get put with kamikaze players that get rinsed in seconds.
Ranking up is just about doing quests and missions. For gearing up, this video can help - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2H4mzTM2jfQ.html
I wish they made DMZ PvP similar to how Division did it in which you had to “go rogue” and alert everyone that you were hostile. I think it would allow friendlies to work together while allowing PvP players to fairly make their intentions known and not just mug me straight from spawn. Examples would be something like announcements when “rogue” players are within the vicinity of you, and possibly only going “rogue” after a certain period of time has passed in the match. Right now I feel like DMZ is full of people that shoot first and ask no questions at all, and it’s frustrating when all I wanna do is unlock my second insured slot without having to worry about getting ganked 5 mins in.
I think that exclamation point in the early part of your video were operators requesting to join? I personally would rather if there's a request to join to either join or walk away...and possibly solo another time (assuming you survive EXFIL)
Some people land on roof of helicopter (jumping from tower/building/other helicopter), then go in front of pilots window and kill people inside thru that window.
Welcome man, so pvp means player vs player and PvE means Player vs environment ( AI Bots ) RNG means random number generator, basically means that it's not predicted or calculated and your relying on luck of the draw if it turns out good in your favor or not
Silenced Sniper, Best gun for DMZ because it can deal with PvE from distance without alerting them. Its also great to deal with other players because its very hard to figure out where you are getting shot from when the person shooting at you has a silencer and is shooting you from distance.
"we're trying to stay out of combat...." Proceeds to murk 2 players... Also you got very lucky with those 2 at the start. Any player worth his salt would have noticed that the UAV directly next to them had been activated and reacted accordingly instead of walking out into the open.
Dude running on open field without shield and saying "please don't shoot" and lives, while I'm with 2 shields getting killed through wall by bots... Its just unplayeble how bots are op.
I just started DMZ a few days ago and still have no idea how to get more 'non-contraband' weapons to bring in. I have been using my insured M4 the entire time as well as contraband, but no clue how to unlock more, can you point me in the right direction? I have a feeling it's something incredibly simple that I am just overlooked.
@@SiNisterFPS Thanks for the reply, but I was actually talking about how to change what weapon is in the slot. I somehow missed the 'change' button and now I can access my other guns to bring in lmao. Keep up the content, it's hard to find DMZ stuff much less solo DMZ.
I play solos, and don't have a problem with extracting, unless it's a squad of latinos, for some reason they always act like they're in a game of mp shipment.
Something I am actually about to try today, I normally always only take the spotter scope but wanted to try smokes and chucking them on me in pvp situations and using thermal sniper to take people out. Smokes for exfil are fine to use when trying to get to the heli if there is people around but as I say in the video, we try and avoid doing that since it ups the RNG stakes on getting out. But they can be very good for last chopper and I will be doing a video specifically on the last chopper at some point once I have more testing on things you can do with smokes and being able to extract even if enemies are on the plane
@@SiNisterFPS awesome! I've had the idea of a grenade launcher under barrel on my assault rifle with smokes and a thermal scope on my sniper for some awesome gun Play. In warzone 1 we had like 5 smokes in the nade launcher and 2 smokes in our pocket. I'm not sure if we can do that now?
@@oakfig yeah don't think so but not tested tbh, def something I will look into and update if so. If there is a smoke launcher, then it will mean I can still bring in the spotter scope and still benefit smokes from the launcher etc
I’m pretty sure it doesn’t notify them. Have you ever been notified before getting sniped out of no where? I don’t think it’s the same mechanic as the recon drone.
I don’t really play DMV anymore ever since they made the butts stronger and increase the numbers but I just spawned in like seven different times just for jokes and every time I spawned in there was at least 10 bots around me as soon as I took one step I got 10 of them firing at me 😂What a joke prettyCrazy when the developers design a game mode for the bots to purposely cheat
Sniper, silencer etc. But they are very broken. But again this comes down to again planning your exfil, some exfils are renown for having high populations of AI and they are ones to avoid etc
Silencer on all guns Sniper lmg br ar and marksmen rifle get headshots use cover use plates use plate vest stow extra plates and armor boxes and ammo use score streaks use field upgrades use teammates attack them properly and use a vehicle
