Great content as usual. The 1 thing I’d add is teaching them HOW to refer you. Most past clients of mine will tell friends and family they should use me but I would rarely get a call. Teaching them to introduce us via a group text or email is a much more effective way. Just my 2 cents🤓👍🏠🔥

I'm part of a few referral groups but where they lack understanding is that you can't just walk into a meeting, exchange business cards and be expected to start referring each other to each other's clients and friends. It takes time to build that trust first. Ideally we would do business together first, then I can refer them if I was really blown away. And vice versa.
This video literally showed up after a friend referred my work to his friends, after I did a job he loved Didn't get paid though, because it's still a brand new business, and I promised to keep my first 5 clients free of charge (just to help me get the word out!).
I am shocked that this type of information is free. On top of that I am thankful you shared the reality of how long it took for each relationship to prosper ,which lets me know that I might have to wait 1 to 3 years before I get a referral. For a start you need a good and experienced hand to guide you or even manage your account while you copy the same trades Trust me, trading isn't difficult as we see it. On the flip side, if one gets marked with a bad rep from any of their referral networks, that can create ripple effects of negativity, just like that saying "A good name is to be more desired than great wealth"

Wow! That's crazy to think that my whole life I've been pretty much doing referrals, making relationships with people for over 20 and 30 years. Interesting point about "likes" on youtube. I know most people probably don't opperate this way, but for any channel that I like, watch regularly, and subscribe to, I basically hit the like button in the first 5 seconds and almost never remove it.

I have a bad memory for people. Like I have serious problem with names, let alone industry one is involved in. One thing not mentioned in the video: this referral thing is in my opinion another reason why the wealthy get wealthier and the poor stay poor. They are in the business world for so long, and they know so many people, that they can arrange things with ease, compared to an unknown newbie.
@@chibidib Statistically in the US the poor don't stay poor over the course of their lifetime and that goes for every racial group etc. Stop listening to that narrative as it doesn't exist.
I remember when I started in my industry an old manager now long retired told me that I could be the worst salesman in the world but if I have enough people to speak with I'll make a living. Many good salespeople just need to see more potential clients. Some of the best salespeople are not that great at selling itself, but they have mastered getting referrals.
Thanks for the help appreciate the video I did everything in the book studied passed all the tests and never once was told about referrals. Never had one question about a referral. So when I had my interview with my broker they said there's a referral fee and I'm thinking what the hell is that.
Nice video. Item 1 is a dated strategy. Asking a client for referrals before you close an insurance deal is what was taught in the 80's. Wow your clients. Be so good that you're referrable. Ask for Google reviews or written testimonials. Asking for referrals as step 1, could have people clam up, or even worse..provide you with the WRONG type of referrals as you haven't even done business yet.
This might have sparked me. I’m coming clean about something that will hurt me to admit it: I’ve been motivated and ambitious all my life. I started a business when I was 8 years old, by the time I was 21, I owned a bar & restaurant, and a beauty salon. Then a construction company and an archery/ hunting store. Then one day, I was paralyzed in a treestand. I couldn’t get my legs to respond to any commands. Half hour later, I got my circulation back and I got down. I then started getting a lot of pain and I was prescribed pain medication. I went from being a millionaire, to broke. Lost all my ambition and motivation. I realized, I didn’t lose it, it’s what the meds did to me. It’s the side effect. I need my life back.
