In this video, I discuss techniques you can use to successfully turn a material advantage into a win. I show different ways it can go wrong, then illustrate how to avoid those pitfalls. I also will feature this topic in a chapter on my upcoming‪@Chessable‬ course on avoiding middlegame mistakes.

i love how you recommend not always going for the engine's top choice - really important and under-discussed topic

Subscribed and following. Loved the comment about keeping things simple for human beings. Sometimes technically best is not the right move for mere mortals. Keep up the great work. Thanks

I've been struggling at 1460 for a bit, and I throw games all the time, so thanks for the great video!

This is very instructive. From the subject chosen to the style of teaching, it's all great. I've been watching your recent videos and they have been really helpful in learning how to think while playing the game. I've been feeling stuck for a while and you have shown me how things can be approached in a simpler, yet more solid, manner than what I've been doing. Thank you for making the videos, they make me excited to check out your courses.

A sign of complete understanding of the material is the ability to teach it in simple, clean terms. You are doing very well at that.

I find winning a lost position to be extremely difficult. I have tons of scoresheets where I demonstrate the inherent weaknesses of such positions.
