Unrelated to the masterpiece 48LOP, but...EVERY KID (and of course every adult) should have Mastery. Most inspiring book ever, the level of detail in the stories of the wonderful lives depicted is incredible.
Stunning. 'Throw the whole book out if you have to...' !! Which author would be so self-deprecatory to say ignore all the advice in this book so that you get more powerful by becoming more unpredicatable and fluid 👏🏻
Trump is very toxic and very dominant. Unfortunately, a world we live in is very hostile, and Trump is very suitable to steer this superpower of a country forward. Robert cannot get over the fact of it although praise Machiavelli in certain aspects. Go figure…
Another way I think about Law 48: Assume formlessness is to be well-rounded in multiple areas of life, and not just rigid at one thing. Of course, according to Mastery you should spend most of your time towards your life’s task. However, if you’re above average in finances, above average in vocabulary and articulation, above average in appearance, physical stature, fighting ability, history, social skills, etc. etc. then that will add up to be really powerful. So I ideally you do a lot of this in your 20s and not waste time on superficial things. Don’t take this as gospel, feel free to disagree, but that was sort of thought-provoking to me.
If you enjoy ideas about masculinity and mastery, I invite you to explore the videos I share on the Mastery Order Channel. Challenge yourself with some concepts about manhood, explore your masculine potential to the maximum and become the kind of man you would look up to. We can only better ourselves together, as men among men, so I invite you to use what I share and, of course, share your own thoughts and opinions so that others can benefit from them as well. All the best to you!

Your books are helping me a lot. I'm learning how to apply all of the things you teach in your books such as Mastery, Laws of Human Nature, The Art of Seduction, 33 Strategies of war, and The 48 Laws of Power. Your books helped me understand people more and it also helped me become much more emotionally mature.
I read this book for the first time when I was in high school and Robert, this book really helped me when I was dealing with aggressors and toxic types which I didn't formerly know how to deal with them. God bless you Robert 🙂
One question I have for Robert greene . How the hell are you able to actually like people if you think like that. It's so goal oriented. Why not live just for the sake of living. There is such a big difference between how to win friends and influence people and any of Roberts book. While the first one forces you to think about others instead of yourself. The 48 laws of power seems really negative. The wording and the way you portray stuff seems dystopian and unrealistic. It's like a warzone
Stop being a sheep & do what you like /love. you don't need to make a million dollars nor work a 9-5 job. I know tons of people who clean houses/companies, work at gas station 's, etc. JUST WHAT YOU LIKE.
Simply brilliant book - 48 laws of power.... its so realistic, pragmatic and practical in today's fast paced, competitive world. Its so brutally honest unlike so many other books which are highly idealistic and impractical. Thank you so much Mr Greene and God bless you always.
Don't outshine the master. Very valuable lesson for me. It's funny, I'd learned of this rule just after learning it the hard way. Although I'd not conceptualized it until reading it from Robert. Which is interesting, had I not read about it I probably wouldn't have put it together that what I did was a detrimental move. I'd have thought it was just some unpredictable situation and I did nothing wrong, but that's not true, I crossed a line that I didn't know existed, but should have known. Sometimes something can be right in front of you but it takes someone else to point it out or piece it together. Roberts good about that.
This is phenomenal! It’s a nice condensed little version that you can watch again if you need reminders. It’s like cliff notes for the book! Very handy! Thank you. 🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻
It’s crazy to think when I first consumed the contents of these books as a teenager, I felt these were subjects that would never apply to me. Yet, nowadays, I study these videos to conduct myself in my day to day as I navigate my personal professional and social life. Life is jokes!
@@lonman6786 Indeed, I was certainly not clear enough I meant the first book that I read by my own means outside the textbook or book that we were «forced »to read during school
Thank you for your work, Robert. It has made a massive positive difference in all walks of my life. Not only has it allowed me to grip reality in ways I never thought would be possible, it has also allowed me to live by much higher moral standards. This is important, since malignant actors everywhere will try to stealthily undermine a person with morals. In a sense, they are also applying the laws of power. Thank you again, I wish you the best!
I used to be a non reader person, then I decided to start reading, and then through some information I bought the 48 laws of power, and that was my first book, I completed it, and i moved to read other books, now all the other books seem so easy and boring, I'm not having the quality with I had in the 48 laws of power, such a powerful and amazing book. And sir Robert, he became my, one of the favorite author.
I first spotted this book in my mother's collection when I was in middle school or high school. Her library included motivational stories and some material on psychology. The reason I read The Laws of Human Nature initially was that, from a personal point of view, I never really believed in my dad's persona and felt he had an inaccurate perception of the book, and I found the concept of truly comprehending others to be appealing. The only way I became aware of the creation of this book was through a video featuring you and J. Peterson that lasted for 8 minutes. I learned the importance of adhering to rule number one through a trying experience, especially when I began working remotely due to the pandemic. I'm highly agreeable and I wasn't aware of my past traumas. In the end, I realized that most of my landlords were impossible to please and that my own needs with regard to work and well-being had to take precedence over their unmet wants stemming from childhood.
Robert Greene changed my life. I got kicked out of School when I was 13, the first I book I ever willingly read was 48 Laws Of Power when I was 17. It showed me that the people around me had envy and I was not aware of it. It also slapped me in the face & made me realise I wasn’t a very nice person myself. Am 30 now, courtesy of Robert Greene books it changed my life. Thanks for your books and your knowledge. May more health shall come your way so you go hiking again ❤.
@@Booktuber07 12 rules for life by Jordan Peterson, which I wish I read when I was a bit younger and The Five Major Pieces to the Life Puzzle by Jim Rohn.
Law #48 is really the answer to people who takes every laws literally and criticize the book for any contradiction. Robert is right about Assuming formlessness because even if the list of laws of power works, it doesn't mean it can be used to every situation. Every event, every person, every circumstance is unique. The greatest power a person can have is having the ability to assess and determine when or when not to deploy these tactics accordingly.
1. LAW#1: NEVER OUTSHINE THE MASTER. 2. LAW#2: NEVER PUT TOO MUCH TRUST IN FRIENDS. 3. LAW#4: ALWAYS SAY LESS THAN NECESSARY. 4. LAW#6: COURT ATTENTION AT ALL COSTS. 5. LAW#8: MAKE OTHERS COME TO YOU. 6. LAW#10: AVOID THE UNHAPPY AND UNLUCKY. 7. LAW#11: LEARN TO KEEP PEOPLE DEPENDENT ON YOU. 8. LAW#15: CRUSH YOUR ENEMY TOTALLY. 9. LAW#16: USE ABSENCE TO INCREASE RESPECT AND HONOR. 10. LAW#22: TRANSFORM WEAKNESS INTO POWER. 11. LAW#28: ENTER ACTION WITH BOLDNESS. 12. LAW#34: ACT LIKE KING TO BE TREATED LIKE ONE. 13. LAW#44: DISARM AND INFURIATE WITH THE MIRROR EFFECT. 14. LAW#46: NEVER APPEAR TOO PERFECT. 15. LAW#47: IN VICTORY, LEARN WHEN TO STOP. 16. LAW#48: ASSUME FORMLESSNESS.
Amazing breakdown of the laws of power! I'm definitely going to use some of these tips in my daily interactions with colleagues and friends. Thanks for sharing
Mr greene, how do you make sure that your books are timeless/up to date? How do you know they're up to date? How do you make sure that one of your books doesn't have a weak leg? Thanks. I think your book will be of big help to me these days I intend to read the art of seduction, and use it as meditation to focus on myself(and to stop being the unhappy and the unlucky). I don't know how useful that's going to be
I read this a few years ago and it's insane how much I started seeing people try to bullshit me (and/or people around me) with the tactics in the book. It's so impressive how he was able to write a book about all these deep seeded evil patterns of behavior that are second nature to humans and have been for thousands of years.
This book could have been called _How to Be a Psychopath._ Also, some “laws” negate each other. For example: “LAW 6: COURT ATTENTION AT ALL COST. Everything is judged by its appearance; what is unseen counts for nothing. Never Let yourself get lost in the crowd, then, or buried in oblivion. Stand out. Be conspicuous, at all cost. Make yourself a magnet of attention by appearing larger, more colorful, more mysterious than the bland and timid masses.” “LAW 38: THINK AS YOU LIKE BUT BEHAVE LIKE OTHERS. If you make a show of going against the times, flaunting your unconventional ideas and unorthodox ways, people will think that you only want attention and that you look down upon them. They will find a way to punish you for making them feel inferior. It is far safer to blend in and nurture the common touch. Share your originality only with tolerant friends and those who are sure to appreciate your uniqueness.”
No it doesn't you just ain't creative. Law 6/38 is like you going to Saudi Arabia. You not gon kiss your bf in public but when you get back to America you will but you will take a picture at the burj khalifa with him and post it
@@cambrie7946 I get that. But even then it’s hard to reconcile these when he uses rather absolute terms: “NEVER get lost in the crowd…be conspicuous AT ALL COST.” Also, he’s talking about a general disposition to maintain in front of crowds of people: “Make yourself a magnet of attention…more mysterious than the bland and timid masses…” and yet “If you make a show of going against the times…people will think that you only want attention.” What? How can you adopt both of those approaches simultaneously. And again, he doesn’t describe these as situational methods. He describes these as LAWS that are valid for everyone at all times. Further: “Share your originality only with tolerant FRIENDS and those who are SURE to appreciate your uniqueness.” But he stresses in another law that friends are the last people you can trust, and that you can’t be certain that ANYBODY won’t betray you. So, what does all this wishy washy double talk amount to? Certainly not any kind of “laws”.
@@user-qj4eo his tactics may be useful, but I don’t think they promote good human qualities. I think trying to employ these tactics makes a person manipulative and sociopathic.
Wowee! Speechless. Being formless. You didn't give up! Oh my god. A real & hugely articulate & completely relatable & real and kick ass smart writer. Love the part where you shared that your inside writer voice, it got super tiny & quiet & yet didn't go away. And you revived your writer voice back up, and wrestled it back up to greatness. And you shared with the world real tools we can understand. It's also Greek, maybe. The individual. Think you deserve a world changing writer award....
Hello Mr. Robert. I just wanna thank you for presenting me this book and the Art of Seduction. I´m really not the books type guy but i understood that by reading i can increase my vocabulary and my knowledge so thank you! once again
I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR BOOKS SOO MUCH, they really helped me go through a lot of things and get better at leadership roles. Maybe after med school I will continue with writing again
Robert Greene is such a dynamic thinker... I'm so grateful someone like him really exists- gracing us with remarkable wisdom and knowledge and insights. Slowly and certainly we are realizing how vast, and abstract the mind and the invisible world is. And their impacts and influence on manifested reality.
👑My late husband tried teaching me some of these points throughout our 25 year marriage, I never listened 😢, and now I really need his wisdom and then I found this Channel today. Thank you. I'll try.👑
