I have been hitting a one hander for about 60 years and fortunately it looks much like yours (I have received itisgoingmuch coaching I might add) but I will say your instruction is as good as it gets. I do have some problems with hard serves to my backhand and sometimes slice the return or shorten it up. Do you have a specific video on backhand returns? My 2 hand return is not bad and Stan Smith did advocate for a two hand return and one hand every where else. I also do some coaching for our high school and I find it easier to teach the two hander. However nothing feels better than a well struck topspin one hander. I am sure glad I stumbled on your videos!
This was great. I'm in my 30s and started playing tennis last summer and have settled on a one-handed backhand. Lots of clear tips here. Will try to work some of my game.
Been a 1handed backhander 4 the past 45 yrs...my backhand is gr8 on the grass/clay courts but on synthetic courts i struggle 4 consistency...hvn't been able 2 figure out solution 😏 so far.
Henin was a shorty and routinely caught balls around chest level which probably explains why her grip looks pretty extreme. On low balls it looks like a normal eastern backhand grip.
Thanks a lot for the greqt video. Could u please also make one video preparing early for the shot. Even after 15 years of tennis I strugle mostly due to not preparing well even though right technique
You show the racquet dipping with the wrist in neutral. However, you don’t actually hit the ball this way. Neither do other players. Check out the wrist positions from this ATP compilation. Dimitrov gets to neutral on high balls a couple times with a wrist swing but virtually all of the swings are with the wrist extended at drop and at contact. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bNeN2XevGLM.htmlsi=5HonLejzVLUNuAoE
