*Adds Dinan to list That was a complete fairytale village - thank you for sharing with us. I loved the recommendation of the gites and the hotel brand. I didn't know of either of those. And as a fellow introvert, I too want to be tucked in and cozy at dark!

Gîtes de France is a great website to search for properties. Just be sure to watch the extra fees as some properties have a bit of an “old school French” way of adding in towel, sheets and cleaning fees as well as deposits. This is slowly going away due to international tourism demands and standards. I also like the gîtes on Holidu a lot. Abritel is very nice but expensive sometimes.
