Lift (2024) movie narration. Cyrus, a world-renowned thief, leads a crew of specialists-Denton, pilot Camila, hacker Mi-Sun, safecracker Magnus, and engineer Luke-on a daring dual heist. They steal a Van Gogh painting in London while staging the fake kidnapping of NFT artist N8 in Venice. Cyrus explains that stolen art skyrockets in value, and after selling the Van Gogh for $20 million on the black market, they use the money to purchase N8’s NFT. With the staged kidnapping, the NFT’s value balloons to $89 million, and N8 celebrates with the crew, promised a share of the profits.
Interpol agent Abby Gladwell, Cyrus’s former lover, tracks down Denton and arrests him. Instead of pressing charges, her superior, Commander Huxley, offers the crew a deal: they’ll get full immunity if they help take down billionaire Lars Jorgenson, who plans to trigger massive floods in Europe for profit. Jorgenson plans to pay the hacking group Leviathan in gold bullion, which will be transported via a commercial airliner.
The crew must steal the gold mid-flight. Camila will fly a private jet beneath the airliner, while Mi-Sun hacks the radar to divert the plane. Magnus will crack the safe, and the crew will transfer the gold to their jet. Although the plan is complicated when Jorgenson moves up the schedule, the crew pulls off the heist, outsmarting both Jorgenson and Interpol, and making off with the gold.
