This sonata sounds very much like a quote from Greig‘s piano concerto! I love the way you carefully show how to build up the arpeggios, so they are very secure underneath the hand. Also, the relaxing of one hand against the other is a very good tip. Thanks for a brilliant video! 😀
hi Danae, enjoying your techniques very much and applying it to a lot of the things I’m working on one thing I have noticed though if I can conquer a short passage in a day, make it nice and smooth and quick and bright. I can go back the next day and I’d have to rework it again and the next day and sometimes that can go on for weeks and I’m wondering why it doesn’t stick. Thank you for any suggestions.

This happens to me as well and I think, that sometimes we just need to be patient with the progress, depending on the passage. Sometimes I put in so much work and for 2-3 days, it feels like there is no progress, but then, after a day of not practicing that piece, on day 5 there is a huge jump forwards. Sometimes things just need to set and go over into the longterm memory and the subconscious. Repeating the practice techniques definitely helps! :)

I am learning Bach’s Italian concerto and would love if you could give us some tips or possibly some exercises to help. I can’t imagine that I will ever play it at such a professional speed .
