He didn't just want to win, he wanted to teach him a lesson (by absolutely obliterating him). He was in control for the entire game, there was no instance where the opponent had an advantage. Every little exchange, every interaction, he won. It feels like an Yu Gi Oh overkill moment when the protagonist taps into some dark powers after his best friend got kidnapped.
ngl I think you should just surrender the 2nd time you meet a sniper. Otherwise it just makes the games unfun. Maybe you could blackscreen the menu and randomly start the queue so snipers can't track it
