ByAnyMeans has been consistent and continues to improves with their every video. One thing that separates them from other hoop channels is that ever since they made their videos available to be downloaded for offline use. Thanks for that and you deserve every blessing coming your way.
@@ByAnyMeansBasketball yall also always break down the process to a move. Like not just how to do it, what situations and what reads you need to first understand to use them. And just teaching how important body training is to directly improving your game
I love this, Luka is great at this, it’s a couple other players that are great at this, knowing how to use angles in basketball will make you more effective.
I have a question though. Wouldn't giving yourself space at an uneasy angle also give the defender enough space to adjust their timing and go for a block? That's what I've seen on another video
Depends on the situation! And many times, both will work. Up to you to try different things out and see what works best for you in different situations 💪🏻
i think i know what you mean. i ran track so i have a pretty fast first step, so i can always blow my first defender pretty much every time just taking a good 2 3 seconds and messing with them. lowkey without moving my feet just rocking your knees or torso or head fakes will get you blown by. it very underrated in my opinion. but to answer your question if there in the paint or close. i always drive and in one dribble i will take a penultimate step. no i do not dunk but i just do a hang time layup where i jump forward as far. get a lot of and ones. or i do a decell stop like micheal jordan taught rip hamilton and make those baby jumpers.
@@ByAnyMeansBasketball Nah you really are an awesome teacher I hope you know that, I never had been able to afford a trainer and ever since last year been taking your advice and practice the skills you teach I’ve been getting drastically better
Awful. You don’t really know how driving works. I played in the D league and I’d love to play 1:1 and show you how it actually works. Every example you force yourself out of the direction of the basket. You allow the defender to dictate your path. That’s not what happens at a high level. Taking half a second to take a wider angle means your shot is blocked 100% of the time.
Like I said, I’d love to show you how it works. Saying to plant the inside foot and bounce out will not work at a high level. It’s the exact opposite. Players load with their outside foot and go into the body of the defender. If you don’t do that your shot is blocked. Literally 99% of the time.
I don’t understand why you have to say “Awful.” Literally this is what is wrong with people’s demeanor on the internet, or I should simply say demeanor in general. Ok you clearly disagree and feel the tips described herein are not helpful. There’s a better way to say that than to say something belittling to another man. Maybe this is one of the reasons why we as men are getting generationally weaker, because we use language (spoken and non verbal) to bring each other down. I don’t know you Ash-ng4mn and I don’t believe this was your intention, but it is a consequence from this type of dialogue. Now as far as the content of the video: Both of you have more experience and are more gifted athletically than I am, having said that, this is my take: Driving to the basket is a matter of speed and strength. If your defender has both on you, it makes driving much more difficult but not impossible. You as the offensive player always have one advantage, you know what you are going to do before you do it. So let’s say I choose a certain angle because of my perception of an advantage and my defender is very good and has nullified that advantage, I now need to get my defender off that line, the only way to do that is to change my angle (or spin, or step back, but let’s focus on angle change). I can either use my outside foot and angle in or use my inside foot and angle out. Angle IN: creates contact and that split second of contact gives me the advantage to go up because the defender has to recover from the contact and then challenge. I like this and do this myself Angle OUT: a solid defender will react quickly and adjust their angle and come towards me, in that moment they are coming towards me I should quickly make another angle change because now the defender has to recover from their initial correction before they can make another one to counter me. I think this can actually work and truthfully I only angle out against defenders I know I can shoot over but I will start trying this with better defenders and see what happens. Will report back. Keep up the great content!
@@hasankakli3585 me saying “awful” is my opinion based on my experience playing at a higher level. You are correct, I should’ve been constructive and not belittling. ^ but that was never my intent. I was frustrated with trainers training the wrong way. That’s all.
@@hasankakli3585 and, I disagree. Conceptually what you’re saying makes sense, but at the NBA level, if you move away from the defender, your shot is blocked. 100% of the time.
