Joanne has kinda annoyed me so far, and definitely isn't as such a strong cook as some of the other contestants, but I did really like how kind and supportive she was to Sharnee. They're right that they can't really recommend ingredients in case it sends them home, but she stayed around Sharnee and was went into loving mom-mode, which I just thought was really sweet :)
Personally, I dislike that this season has contestants competing against each other by undercutting each other. When you're in a competition for immunity, your co-competitors shouldn't have an impact on how the competitoin goes. That's just morally wrong.
This season is far more improved than season 1 of MCAU. Contestants in that season were hating each other more than this. But still we get to see some heat between them😒
Mathews's self-description of his previous pasta dishes is severely in honest. He was near catastrophic in how he did those dishes. And even after knowing his mistakes, he repeated them in the second challenge. That is not a good track record.
aaron harvie should've came back for back to win!! he's very interllectual when he speaks (sounds like a podcast that i'll listen to everyday) and it's obvious he knows his stuff. either him, johnathan or skye should've returned
Beef Stroganoff has been served since 1871. It shouldn't make any difference if you were born 1934 as the judges or 1988 as the contenders. It's a world known classic (at least outside Australia). The judges seem to believe that the dish was invented in the 1970s. Beef Stroganoff will never go out of fashion. George's dishes in his restaurant "The Press Club" resembles the dishes we had in Europe in the late 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s. Nothing wrong with that, but maybe he shouldn't talk about outdated dishes.
The scenario of this pressure test reminds me of the parents (those at the gantry)sitting in to watch their kids (the clueless young guns cooking) while guiding them through their enrichment classes
Yea nutmeg and chuck steak screams more of a Dutch Hachee dish than stroganoff to me :/ Nothing wrong with a good old Hachee but that simmers for a minimum of 6 hours for that steak to be nice and tender so it falls apart when you stick a spoon through it, also rather served with rice or potatoes than a pasta :p
I cannot believe people enter this competition and dont really know how to make food. Good lord i am an old woman and no professional cook but i hve been reading and collecting recipes all my life. Beef straganoff was known workdwide
