I was listening to Subsonics when I wanted to know how the bass was made. Googled it and the dude himself gives a detailed talk on how he did it. Legend.

Toneprojects Basslane he uses it to mono bass frequencies below a set frequency (Its an older free windows only plugin). The utility plugin in Ableton 10, Brainworx bx_control along with other plugs do the same.
