Thank you so much, Mr Gautier Capucon :) . I am a cellist who cannot afford a good teacher, but mediocre teachers make worse mistakes than your students :) . Your knowledge on techniques and expression seems unparalleled to me by any one else in the cello world. You understand the varieties of ways to perform a piece while having own preferences. With donation from Louis Vuitton I am able to see actual proper instruction. The rest I can manage myself ... I am a great autodidact :)

What is the first piece the they worked on called? does anyone know? I would love to play that on cello, sounds great!

I Love Schubert and I think he played it with great expression

Regarding the Mendelssohn - this is very much a duo sonata and subtle Chamber music conceived of for a drawing room. There’s something wrong with a masterclass on this piece where the pianist is completely ignored and a lot of advice is regarding how to project the mid and lower range of the cello part for big concert venues. I would love to have heard Mr Isserlis’s approach to this student. Mr Capucon is very much a player for big halls and of course a great player of his style.
