On the problem of calculating the shrinkage allowances. When we get to the bore we suppose substract not adding because the bore will get bigger after soldification
The shrinkage allowance is always to be added to the linear dimensions. Even in case of internal dimensions (e.g. internal diameters of cylinders), the material has a tendency to contract towards the centre and thus are to be increased.
