Mastering Chevreuse: Advanced Mechanics & Rotations

I honestly think that Chevreuse's condition of requiring Pyro and Electro teammates/triggering an overload is actually very healthy character design. She's a 4 star character who is very competitive with 1000em Kazuha when her conditions are met. After so many 4 star releases who end up being benched due to their less-than-stellar performance, it's nice to have a new 4 star who is incredibly strong and even the BiS in a lot of teams. That being said, I also think it's a GOOD thing that her strength is mostly locked behind her condition. We've seen what happens when you make 4 stars _too_ flexible and end up having them slot into every single team. Chevreuse differs from the power 5 in that: while she is very comparable to them in strength, her condition prevents her from having the issue of "just use Chevreuse" the same way the P5 do. I also think that she's very different from the niche supports due to their overall design philosophy. Faruzan, Gorou, Sara and Shen He are all hyper-focused on buffing a single element. All of them are the best at their job, _but only once fully invested into,_ meaning levels, talents and for the 4 stars especially, constellations- without these, these characters drop dramatically in performance and aren't worthwhile using due to limitations in their kits that are unlocked by these constellations. Chevy in comparison is still extremely viable at C0, and is usable at very low investment (doesn't even require levelling her talents to make the most out of her buffs, and can perform at full strength with HP/HP/HP main stats). Though her kit is catered towards an overload team, instead of _niche_ I think it's better to categorise her as *_conditional,_* as this seems to be where Hoyo's design philosophy is currently headed. Compare her to another *_conditional_* support: Furina (C0). Furina is another extremely powerful character who is the BiS in a lot of situations, but limited by her _condition_ of requiring the team to be above 50% HP, therefore preventing her from being slotted into every single team. Unlike the niche supports, Furina can still be used to an extent in teams that don't make use of her condition, though with a lot of compromise (as opposed to i.e. Faruzan who would be useless outside of buffing an Anemo ally). Which brings me to my next point: Chevreuse doesn't necessarily _have_ to meet her condition, or at least the condition of having JUST electro and pyro allies. You can still pair Chevreuse with an Anemo teammate like Kazuha if you want to because only her resistance shred is tied to her team condition. You can still make use of her 40% ATK buff, healing, energy generation (C1) and DMG bonus (C6), and by pairing her with a VV user, you're still getting 40% resistance shred. Is this a wasted slot? Probably. Would Bennet perform better instead? Probably as well, but you _can_ use her outside of her team condition if you want to, and again, I honestly think it's a GOOD thing that she's not the best character to use in every team. This direction of *_conditional_* characters I find is very healthy for the game. It allows Hoyo to create powerful characters, 4 stars included, balancing them with a condition that must be met to maintain their benefits. It also forces more creative team building, meaning we are less likely to see the same characters in every single team, while also not being as limiting as the niche supports who we only ever see in 1 or 2 different teams. It's also nice that they open up new playstyles that hadn't been fully explored before (in Chevy's case, this would be overload teams).

when we use sara's burst, there is a overload, so chev's buff should remain till raidens burst (maybe 1or 2 sec downtime). or if we have a c6 benny, we can do a normal atk on raiden before her burst and do NOW YOU SHALL PERISH

Haven't built her yet, great video thanks for giving me the how to in a quick easy to understand way! Also i was wondering about that Raiden Hyper style team potentially being a bit over-rated if used for all purpose, and you answered that nicely, good for stuff like PMA and world boss but see reason now its not perfect everywhere.

I would love to see a comparation for full supportive builds in Bennett teams with song of days past, clam and 4p milelith.

In a hypercarry team with Raiden Chev bennet Sara, if u have c6 bennet u can trigger overload with raiden basic atk before using burst. Vs tulpa, you use e then auto to trigger electro-charge into overload (since bennet c6 takes a while to take effect).

Dont mind me playing her in Diluc - Chev - Raiden - Lisa comp, it's not meta but it's fun as heck.

I’ve had a ton of fun with dehya/raiden tag teams. I’ve always loved dehya and tried to make her work and my dream team was raiden/dehya but I could never make it work cuz overload is bad. But now it works! Basically you raiden e>chevy>benny>dehya q e e>raiden q. Because raiden and dehya have short bursts Benny can buff both of them.

With Raiden/Sara (C2 or more)/Xiangling/Chev is it possible to buff all three damage dealers with Sara and Chev buffs?

You need to trigger overload before you do Chevs hold skill to get the buff?

2 questions, I have heard it’s best to do chev burst before skill to start with overload then buff it, is that true? Also I have Benny, Sara, chev, and xangling all at c6. Which is the optimal team? I have heard xangling constant pyro application is very helpful for chev. Trying to decide if I build sara or not
