I hit it far and most courses don’t have severe rough so if you can just bomb it out there you’re usually ok and as you said most fairways are pretty big. Trees are the only time you really have to find fairways it seems.
@robbywingfield5255

Grow the rough, make the pros find their own golf balls, and enforce the three minute rule. No more spotters. Make the rough more of a penalty and put the bigger possibility of losing a ball and the penalty strokes that go with it in the player’s head when teeing off.

Definitely right about shaping shots. I can shape the ball both ways but given the choice I'm hitting a 5 yard draw because it's what feels most comfortable. Only time I'll hit a cut is if I have to in order to stop it on hard greens and need more height or if I absolutely have to hit a fairway as my driver fade tends to pretty much just go straight. Would love to hit that shot off the tee stock but it costs me about 10-12 yards and I can't afford to give any up at about 265-270 average.
@ironsideeve2955

Why not hit a cut coming from the inside so you don't lose distance?

So what would you do with a strong dog leg the opposite of your stock shot, like a 425 par 4 with the dog leg where it would leave you 200+ in and trees so you can’t cut the corner?

Scott is dead on about putting speed. Faxon is trying to maximize his new career as a putting guru. Decade works. My swing was in shambles for a while but using decade helped me stay in the 70’s as a club golfer.

What are you more likely to hit a green with...a 5i or a 9i? Easy answer. Good news is you identified what you need to work on. Good luck.
@samvega290

As someone who can swing in the low 140s, swinging as hard as you can and floating around the golf course in a walking meditation are incredibly asynchronous and the latter is much more conducive to playing good golf. Also Bryson can’t play anymore

Bifurcation is stupid. If they want to make it harder for the pros, grow the rough longer/thicker and make the greens harder/faster on tournament weeks. Just look at Bay Hill - it's always among the hardest tournaments on tour and that's because they groom the course to make it challenging.
@robch4414
@robch4414 9 дней назад
Bifurcation is not the answer, even though pros and amateurs play almost entirely different games. The solution is better and tougher course design, where hazards are hazards where strokes and/or distance will almost certainly be lost. Too many course are now set up to suit bomb-and-gouge play because the uninformed spectator gets excited by it. Too few bunkers challenge the pros at all - many deliberately seek bunkers out as the easy leave! This where the game has lost direction: it's not making things hard enough.
@tylersouthcott3359
@tylersouthcott3359 2 месяца назад
if we're being honest the game is already bifurcated. Pros are playing golf balls that aren't even released to the public. They get equipment that is out before the norms get it. They are in a constant state of having the most updated equipment that ends up being the next years model and this is in their FAVOR. Having the best players in the world play equipment that is harder for them is not the worst thing. Baseball players have to go to wood when they go pro. Basketball players have a further back 3 point line and a different shot clock. This is not a crazy idea
@tylersouthcott3359
@tylersouthcott3359 2 месяца назад
also being someone who played baseball, swinging a wood and metal ball are more or less the same mechanically but a wood bat is what weeds out a majority of up and comers. The sweet spot is MUCH smaller and if you're not hitting it on the screws you can't cheat it like you can with metal bats. It is a very fair comparison. It's like the different between hitting a true blade 3 or 4 iron and a hybrid. There ar many very talented guys that make it to college and make that transition and never are quite the same with the wood bat. Not to mention the decision to start practicing with wood in baseball is something every player has to face if they plan on going further
@baileyhood4057
@baileyhood4057 Год назад
As much as I appreciate Brysons distance and how ridiculous it is. He has 100% been playing worse golf lately… I firmly believe his distance focus is the cause. You have to be in the fairway hitting the far is a beautiful thing…. But hitting the ball in the fairway constantly matters a whole lot more in my opinion.
