Thanks for another great video! The way a human brain learns, retains, and recalls info is quite fascinating (somehow through chemical reactions I believe) and no doubt varies from one person to the next. Regardless of the latest idea on what teaching approach works best, your "relaxed" teaching style is always welcome and effective.

I'm new to LrC for just over a year and frankly only use seasonally (in winter I catch up on my managing my images the prior year - I golf, etc in summer/fall)...during my off season I 'forget' what I've learned....these videos ARE THE BEST. Your training detail level allows a nubie to help think through a way to manage images - I'm through the 1st 8 of these and I can make decisions on how I want to move forward with my photo dbase. These are sufficient detail and length to be very easy to review. Prior to this I was somewhat worried how far down a 'rabbit hole' (so to speak) do I go to discover I made a wrong decision. I would say that the 1st 8 have given me enough to know HOW I want/need to go forward - EXCELLENT production here my dear Sir!!

Just wanted to say thanks. I’m new to photography and post processing in my 61st year and loving your teaching through this video series. I’ve tried a couple of other paid options, just wish I had found your videos first. Purchased some downloads and made a donation. Thanks again. Terry

Thanks for this great set of tutorials on LR. They're so well executed. Even though LR Classic has changed some since you produced these, they're still very applicable. Thanks for taking the time share your knowledge.

Hi Anthony, Thank you for sharing your knowledge with in-depth explanation of Crop tool. None of them, so far, as per me, haven't briefed about crop tool, they rather get into the details of elements around and a quick wrap up. There isn't a part of video wherein I could skip or felt like forwarding. Thanks again.

I think there is some sort of optical illusion because of the turn of the lake and the base of the building when compared to the horizon. I saw you straighten it and knew it was straight but it still seemed off. I run into that occasionally.

awesome really enjoy going to each video and learning in bits and pieces so you dont get overwellmed. my question is, is it better to sharpen or anything else last because of pixels? hope that makes sense.

@PhilKoenigBrooklyn

Very good video and the trick of limiting the overlays was worth the price of admission. BUT tthere's one thing that has bugged me about both LR and PS cropping for years and that is bringing a crop line to a to the [ixel point and NOT having it move. And yes I know about the snappiong issue but even if you fix that, a) the fix doesn't "hold" and B) is still doesn't really work.

do i just go to custom setting and put in 16x20 if i want to print this size because i don't see this size to pick from the crop section?

I'm not really understanding the cropping ratio for printing. 9-11 min mark So what it is showing isn't going to print, it's cropping. So you won't ever get the full picture? How would I get an 8x10 of my picture? How do all those ratios work with printing?

I subscribe to Lightroom but in the past I learned to Adobe Bridge together with Photoshop. Anyhow, I recently learned that the Crop tool has a content-aware fill option. I was wondering when I would need that. Well, I have been using the Upright tool available in the Camera Raw Filter. Sometimes I run out of picture in the corners when the screen is rotated. Then I have up to 4 corners to fill. I go corner to corner and select the triangular area and do a content aware fill. Now, I see that I may sometimes have a workaround. Rotate in the Crop tool with the content-aware option on and PS will try to fill the corners. If the picture is something simple like a picture of someone standing against a wall, it works great. I could also change the dimensions slightly by pulling on the horizontal or vertical side and it will fill that. Then if go back into the Upright sub-tool, I have enough space around the image. Do you cover that option of crop tool anywhere?

Be nice if Adobe made the overlay lines more pronounced. Need to strain on some photos to see them. Think they made them thinner some versions back.

Hi, I opine using a vertical of the wall of the building when cropping, as long as parallax is not present may help get horizon in line. Do you have a video for removing parallax effect, please?

Thank you. That shift/O trick was new to me and was desperately needed. Question. I have a 27 inch monitor and I've noticed that LR automatically jumps to full screen when cropping. I often find this to be too big for my tastes. Do you know of a way to make the image smaller while cropping?

Hi Tony. I hope you can help me. Its just an annoyence really. In my crop/straighten tools, I have created several stupid custom ratios that I cant get rid of in the drop down for Custom ratios (adjacent top the padlock) in my LR 6. is there a way I can delete the ones Ive created that I do not want please. Many Thanks

Do your presents all work in LR Classic 8.0 / Camera Raw 11.0? Your preset page just shows up to 6.0.

is possible to crop an image with the original aspect ratio but also with a wanted pixel dimension? for example, a crop with 3000px in lenght?
@AnthonyMorganti
@AnthonyMorganti 6 лет назад
No, you would crop it to the ratio you want then export it to the long side pixel size you want. Just don't crop it smaller than what you plan to export it at.

Anthony Morganti ok! another question: maintaining the same ratio and orientation, are there some differences if I crop the image instead of zoom in it with the scale in lens corrections panel? thanks so much!
