I honestly prefer mexican Lima Lama. Is much more refined and more fluid. This strikes look more like karate movements than lima lama

This is Karate, not polynesian original martial art. Just like Bokator, the so called fighting style of birmania which is just another expression of Muay Thai designed from Tony Jaa's movies.

Lima Lama was created and developed by Tino Tuiolesega. It is a hybrid art like Kajukenbo. Its foundation is Polynesian. The foot movement is based on traditional Samoan dance.

@@MH-zg5yw That's what I said : It's a new creation which has little roots with ancient fighting arts and it's designed for tourists.

@@madjidchouarbi3921 that is not what you stated. You stated that "this is karate, not polynesian original martial art". You never mentioned tourists. Lima Lama was not created for tourists either. You are completely wrong.

@@MH-zg5yw I talked about tourists because they "created" a new Karate like style but, in order to promote it, they said it was a traditional polynesian art. It's just like Bokator or the so called Shaolin schools you can find in China near the real temple: they teach tourists some basic modern stuff and call it traditional. The guys are indeed very happy and proud of their Shaolin training and so will be the naive americans who will train Lima Lama. Advertising in such a magazine has a purpose which is gaining an audience in USA and convincing them to come to your place and learn the art you "rediscovered" from "ancient sources". That's why I call it an art for tourists.
