One of the best show ever made Enabling so many emotions

Very true that Dev's "silly disposition" façade is only removed with his friend Arnold. He never knows how to act around women, be it Rachel or Francesca - always silly and trying to be "fun", he's just never normal. Even Francesca questions the dynamic.

Master of none is genuinely one of the greatest tv shows of all time and season 3 was just incredible. Such a shame it wasn’t recieved well

That's because no one wanted it. We wanted to see what happened with dev in Francesca after leaving us off in season 2. And It never even gave us any closure on that whatsoever. I didn't care about season 3 because it was boring, It was slow, and I didn't really care about those two characters.

this show, russian doll, and midnight gospel are the trifecta of netflix shows I just kept thinking about. The relationships plotted in each season are so well done in MoN that I actually find it harder to rewatch in its entirety, it's very close to home. Even if it's not a masterpiece, I think it accomplished more than what it set out to do. Glad someone's doing a deep dive :)

If your not in it 100% Why be in it Profound words from a healthy young man who has healthy examples. That is a blessing. Throw in trauma, especially childhood, or a bit of ADHD, or addiction, or ……. Life’s curve balls make even those who thought they were 100% in it, not.

Great video! I'm a fan of the Francesca and Dev story. Was rooting for them more so than Rachel

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! the transitions, music, and dialogue in this is so beautifully tied together. it all matches and it hits one on an emotional level, as if i’m watching the show myself. your videos always draw me in. love to all the moms and dads who were there for you when you needed them.

I think we have a deep yearning to leave something behind after we’re gone. I have a picture of my grandma up on my wall. She passed away some time ago. So did my other grandparents, but for some reason I don’t have pictures of them on my wall. Anyway, I thought that wow, I guess we all end up as just memories and pictures eventually, and that’s the sum of our legacy. But no. I’m here, my kids are here, and someday, God willing, my grandkids will be here. THAT’S the legacy. Great video my dude, you’re a great essayist and I’m looking forward to your video on the show Love.

I have to disagree with you on one key thing: the point of this entire video is ME feeling fuzzy. Point made. I can't believe how few views a video this good has. Great job on being thorough in the analysis, skilled in the editing, and generous in the offering, Love it. +1 Subscriber. Keep going!!

By far the best video essay for Master of None I've seen so far; really enjoyed it all. Keep up the good work. Just curious - any idea what the background song at the beginning of the video (before the intro music) is?

This is so wonderfully well done. Season 1 hooked me hard I liked the eclectic cast of characters , season 2 blew me away. I remember I had covid really bad for about 2 weeks and I would repeatedly watch season 1 and 2 over and over . Dev and Francesca were peak couples goals . I wanted to experience that feeling that he had and it was so well executed . Season 3 was a major letdown. Nothing about it felt canon

I’m worried if you like season 3 cuz it’s easily some of the worse pieces of television I have witnessed in my life..and I have watched a lot of tv some say too much

also Denise & her wife are kinda terrible so I could care less except for the fact she is tryna have a baby

one last thing to add it may be the most beautifully well shot season, but just because a turd is golden that doesn’t mean it’s good.

More than a couple opinion pieces have been written on how appreciative they are of the portrayal of male emotional validation and male friendships on this show. Good video, subscribed because I appreciate your analysis :)

This show is so affecting and clever in its simplicity. It’s funny and philosophical. And then, it elicits huge feeling from those unnoticed moments when the mundane and the salient elide and coalesce into Ansari’s auteur disposition. And then there’s a distinctly foreign quality to it divulged in its influences and homages.
