And Speaking of Jeopardy in the USA, there were other General Knowledge game shows before and during that time Jeopardy was on from the 1970s to the early 2000s. The following games were: Tic Tac Dough hosted by game show hosts Wink Martindale, Jim Caldwell, and Patrick Wayne (1976-1985, 1990-1991) Bullseye/Celebrity Bullseye hosted by Jim Lange (1984-1986). The Challengers hosted by Dick Clark (1990-1991), The Jokers Wild hosted by Bill Cullen, Jim Peck and Jack Barry (1972-1986) and was later hosted by Pat Finn from 1990-1991. Trivial Pursuit hosted by Wink Martindale (1993-1994) which by the way had also had a spin off which was Trivial Pursuit America Plays from 2006-2009 hosted by Christopher Knight. Debt hosted by Wink Martindale from 1996 - 1998. Two minute drill which was a spin off of Mastermind but only on questions related to sports which it was aired on ESPN from 2000-2001. And 21 hosted by Maury Povich from 1999-2000. So these game shows were a big hit back then!! And thank God there are some videos here on RU-vid that are airing some episodes of these game shows!! And so for me to watch the game show Mastermind India when I was there in Kerala, India from May 2000 - May 2002 before and after the September 11, 2001 World Trade Center terror Attacks in Manhattan NY (New York City), it was an honor for me to be there. The only thing that the contenders should have been playing for was a trophy instead of a glass bowl which would break easily. And to see a few of these videos here on RU-vid is priceless. The only question is are there any General Knowledge game shows in India on TV that are still around just as much as Jeopardy is the USA?

No scope of re telecast. BBC lost the mastermind tapes and Doordarshan lost the quiz time etc tapes even before that. Several of my friends from a previous generation of quizzing got their start in quiz time

@@opslists Sir in 1998, I was studying in Class 6, I had asked my cable tv operator for a BBC connection, He said that BBC isn't available in Jamshedpur. Similarly to the best of my knowledge, it wasn't available in Asansol, Patna, or Bokaro. I saw any BBC Channel for the first time in Mumbai that year. BBC was widely available in Big 6 Cities, but I can speak of other cities. Even today BBC and its other sister concern channels arent available that well in moufossil towns of India.
