YO i literally did the exact thing as your guest! I was working on my phd in physics and left academia with my masters because of the toxic work expectations. Another thing i had in common with your guest is that i was working on cosmology . Anyway, I took a year off to figure what to do with all my acquired mathematical skills and discovered the field of data science. I took a few online courses in python and then landed a job in NYC as a full time data scientist. I make way more money than i would have as a professor, i work way less hours, and i still get to mess around with interesting problems and do fun math. I use your videos all the time btw when i need to brush up / learn about new data science skills
Hey congratulations on your success. Can you write me an email on learnpythonlanguage@gmail.com ? I would like to know more about you and if possible invite you as well on my channel for a conversation
@@taekwonjeff can you please give a rough estimate of your salary...I'm extremely sorry I don't wanna sound rude...I had no intention of prying into your personal affairs yet I just wanna know how the pay is? Sorry again 🙏
Can I ask what the online courses you took were? Or what sorts of areas of study you were focused on when you did this? Did you do a lot of self-motivated projects to build your portfolio? I'm a current master's in physics student myself, studying as it happens, high energy physics verging on cosmology. I am planning on working a data science role when I'm finished here, but I'd like to be more confident that with certain online courses and/or specific skill development, I will have prepared enough for the job market. Thanks!
I did Bsc from Physics Background And Now Switching to Data Science. Thank for This Video Its helps me a lot Bro. Invite Physics Person on Your Channel it will Helpful.
@@aryadutta8120 Hi Arya, I am also having the same interest as yours as I'm also from physics background. It'd be great to connect with you and figure out things. Let me know if you agree.
@@MehfuzaAhmed01@aryadutta8120 i am also thinking the same. I did my bsc in physics now I want to switch. If you guys can guide me I will be thankful.
This is exactly the kind of encouragement I need. I'm in my final bachelor's semester also, in physics and I was thinking for a time about switching to data science!
Go ahead and do it. Nothing will stop you, we live on a world of full flexibility and freedom where you past background doesn't matter. What matters is your learning attitude and a hunger to do amazing, non conventional things for the better future.
@@keeganfernandes9255 im not entirely decided yet. I'm currently at the technical university of Vienna and we have a dedicated data science masters but you need either an it or mathematics background for some god forsaken reason. I might continue my physics masters and just stick on additional programming certificates. I do kinda want to do both tbh.
I also in my final semester of bachelor of physics. I've been thinking to switch my interest to data science and now exploring some opportunities to further my study in master of data science
Thank you for sharing. I am a fresh graduate in Mechatronics and Autonomous Systems Engineering, and I am passionate about artificial intelligence. I'm here today because of the data scientist roadmap video, and I'm happy to let you know that I'm working on first and second week of the road map.
Thanks a million for bringing such inspiring people to the show bcoz I'm a Msc physics grad and I'm really uncertain about changing my domain to Data science but I didn't knew whether it was correct decision or not. Got some great insights from this video Thank you so much sir. Your videos are very helpful🎉
Thank you sir for bringing such people on your channel, I have also done Bachelors in Arts then MCA and now Doing Mtech from IIT and very focused in Machine Learning and Data science. Such videos acts as motivation to those who come from different background and working very hard.
Now there are more people from different background moving to Datascience. Thanks @codebasics for bringing out this video which will help students change their carrier to data science. Even I have recently changed my field to Datascience after completing MSc. Physics from the same institute(NISER).
@@nirmalaregmi29 See if you are really interested in doing research join PhD, but I would suggest you to rethink before joining. And yes india you will get a scholarship around 31K per month and in abroad it varies from 1.5- 2 Lakh per month.
You'll get scholarship of around 40k(total) when you qualify NET JRF in physics. Further different colleges have different scholarships which come under TA category. TA means teaching assistantship in which you have to help teacher in their work for a specified time.
Much interested in studying python. For that your python series are very useful to me. Thank you very much sir. And today video is highly motivated Thans a lot.
Brooo Iam curent msc in physics student can I eligible for become data scientist is that good carrier for mee ...bro pls tell is very helpful for mee❤️
Hi Sir, Please make a video on Data Scientist facing difficulties while preparing for data scientist and how to be a Never give up attitude while writing a code. Mind set for become a data scientist. Basically I am from B.Tech Mechanical background. I don't know how to write a code. I started my preparation for data scientist and follow your steps while preparation. Pls make a video on that sir. Thank you.
Hi sir....can u create a video on how to create a dataset for our project. Also can u include the tools which will be useful for us to create those different kinds of datasets.....
Hey - amazing video! My name is Vivek and I too come from a Physics background. I have gotten interested in AI/ML - specifically the intersection of Physics with AI/ML - "Physics-informed Machine Learning" or "Physics-informed Neural Networks (PINNs)". I think PINNs are a great way for Physics and Engineering people to get exposed to ML although knowledge on PINNs is not readily accessible outside the research community. I have partnered up with an ed-tech start-up called Vizuara to create videos on PINNs and I too am struggling with all this job application stuff. We should definitely connect!
Sir, I have 3 years of Java Development experience and now started learning Machine learning. I want to know whether it will be helpful in the future. I am currently working in a good product-based company and get a lot of opportunites. Now transition from software development to data field ,is it a good decision?
I have heard that many phd in physics and mathematics are turning data scientists . I also worked my master thesis (physics) on python ,IITD I am getting offer for master of data science in Italy full scholarship. Should i join there and apply for job there Or should I do projects for 1 year in India and apply for job in India . Please give me your view and please made video of someone completed his phd physics and doing data science job. You are doing very great job as you are giving new insights to bsc /msc people ❤️
Your story very inspired me . Because i am also doing my MSc in physics from Jamia Millia Islamia. In my msc project my professor suggested that do research with the help of machine learning. When i started learning about ML , I realised that can be my career option because it never getting me bored. But I want to do PhD physics with the help of Machine Learning and deep learning can you suggest me some advices
Patel sir I am confuse between data science or cloud computing as a carrier which one I pick ... please suggest me sir i m really confuse...and which one hard to Learn...plzzzzz
I came to know a lot from this interview and I can relate to his experience. I also need a suggation. I am doing M.Sc in mathematics from IIT Jodhpur. I got placed in a company as a junior data scientist. And I got a package of 12 LPA. Sir, please suggest to me should I go for this job?
In phd you will also do the 70% work what data science , now if you feel excited about teaching and research and financially good go for phd , and want to go into corporate world and apply your skills to get fast result and settle fast go for job , Rest is on you I am also doing master thesis
I have a question , I am searching for about 2½ years for the data science jobs profile, it's not like I haven't studied anything . I regularly give my time everyday to data science topics, made some projects but still I'm stucked at either my resume is downloaded or they contacted me and end result is rejected
Can you get a job as data scientist in Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon or any other companies with a PhD in physics (astrophysics to be specific)... Even though it's tough still with lots of effort is it possible?
Sir I had done many project on data science, also done certification in data science and computer engineering.but still not getting any interview call .Sir please give me some tips .
Respected sir, I have given my 12th board exams (waiting for the results) i want to build my career in data science SHALL I TAKE ADMISSION IN COLLEGE FOR BSC DATA SCIENCE OR SHALL I LEARN IT FROM RU-vid
Sir, Can you plz give some review on Data Analyics course offered by google on grow google ? Whether it will be enough to get a job in Data Analytics domain .
Please clarify...I am bsc chemistry graduate, can i become software developer at MNC once i got adequate programming knowledge but without engineering degree..
You said we can get a job without a degree I agree with that But you won't explain how we can get hired in company's without a college degree Because I am obsessed with my academics even in 3 month I can't survive with the bloody syllabus
(1) Participate in kaggle/stack overflow and build a good rank (2) Network with people (3) Build solid project portfolio (4) Try freelancing. Here is one success story: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t-kiCW0jdLg.html The person here is a mechanical engineer but immidiately after his b tech he directly got a job as a data scientist. His mechanical engineering degree was not considered during hiring process, instead what helped him was his kaggle performance.
When people seek data science field as they would get job out of it . I find it very funny. 10 years back people where not having job despite having a great knowledge of statistics and probability but people who where not passionate just dropout and people who stayed in the field are millionaire now. So make data science as passion just not considered it as selfish mode job giving field. Getting a job is not bigger deal if really are passionate regarding field. I made it, srish made so definitely everyone can do it. 🔥🔥🔥
Can you help in my career guidance as iam a Bsc Data science student wt could be the better step to me to transform my career as best data scientist?...
yes of course. I will be coming up with an interview soon where a commerce person became a data analyst in bank of america. That video should come out next week
