Have you never played on a lynx course? The ball runs for days, I'm carry 255-260 same as mark and I've got some bullets running out to 320 on lynx courses

Yeah I have and 320 wouldn't surprise me. It was just how it was uphill into wind and it's not yet summer so they can't be that firm? I just thought they must've been winter tees because all the par 3s were in mats

Danny I have just returned from a holiday at poratmock golf club (lynx course in Ireland) and my average drive was up from 260 to 295 with some in the 300's. there was so much run even though its not summer. (Note to measure I as using the feature on the motocady trollies that measure how for you have come)

Yeah you probably did. Links courses are generally courses where it can be very windy and like I said the way mark put it made me think that was out. The tees did look scruffy though but the rest of the course looked great that's why I thought they must've been winter tees. But if buzza had only gap wedge or something into a par 5 so really they should be long because in the peak of the summer when it's really firm he would have a pitch into it which is crazy but saying that when the wind picks up and is into it might not be reachable for buzza and he hits a good ball. In my area the courses are generally parkland and I have only ever played one links course about a year ago and since then I've picked up about 70 yards from 150 to 220 ( I'm a junior) so is probably be surprised how much further I'd hit it on a links course.

Trying to hit it high on the toe which with gear effect produces a small draw so it runs further and high on the fave for higher launch lower spin, having a lesson with mark tomorrow to sort out attack angle as I am losing a fair bit of distance by hitting down on it!! Need to sort the short game out though, normally pretty good with wedges, having a mare at the moment!!

The other thing I've read a couple times is if you set up on the toe - lift your hands up in the air and extend the club (which emulates the position your driver impacts the ball, as the driver doesn't hit the ground like other clubs - especially if you tee it up higher), and you'll see that once you extend your arms and raise the club, the ball is actually in the center of the clubhead, because when moving the club up while keeping your hands extended, you also move the club out a bit as opposed to just straight up. Some pros on tour set up like this, depends on the swing a bit though I guess.
