thanks for the review but from the lies and Transformer Movie avenue the first season took then to call out the fanboys for not liking it, I just can't give this my time. Maybe one day I'll get around to watching just not now. However, I do want to give you props for a great review. You were detailed and eloquent and made it likeable. Keep it going.
You took the most intriguing stance I've seen, preferring Revelations to Revolution. I liked them both. Although the backlash to Revelations left a sour taste for awhile. I felt like the show's creators walked right into backlash motivated largely by the worst of reasons. I felt like they should know their target audience better than that. Revelations was fine dining, or dry red wine. Elevated. Highly appreciated by those who prefer it. (At least, as close as you can get to that with a cartoon and toy from the 80's!) But that kind of thing is not to everyone's liking, even if you don't count the bad takes on it from opportunistic anti fans. Revolutions was chocolate cake. I'm not about to turn down a nice slice of chocolate cake. I like cake. Cakes great! Maybe Season 3 happens, and its Pinot Noir AND chocolate cake? I can hope, right???
So in the original He-Man/ She Ra series Prince Adam and Adora learn they are twins and reunite while in this version is different as Despera(Adora) didn't know that He-Man is her brother at all. I wonder how this play out in the next part of Master of the Universe: Revolution and will She Ra make her proper appearence.
I’m not aware of any version of Adora that’s ever known that she had a brother before she meets Adam/He-Man. In the Filmation series, she was brainwashed by the Horde and then breaks free of that after she meets Adam and learns the truth. In the comics, Despara turns against Hordak when she learns that she’s not really his daughter.
Not sure. Universal was able to mention things like "Eternia" in the She-Ra cartoon. I'm sure there's overlap, especially if it's just a cryptic mention.
I hate all the "M"s in this production - just like Go speed racer, lego masters Chef Ramseys kid cooking Show, mikey & minney MM = 33, I Mean why can't the Fr33masons get ANY representation??? (I mean besides Doomcock)
Despite my issues with the season, overall I loved it! But my biggest issue was how rushed it all was which imo accounts for some of the dumbassery that took place. Like with Andra, I can see her being manipulated by Keldor after being "rejected" by He-Man (understandable, since he doesn't know her) if it were more than one scene. There was a lot to unpack there and explore but since they only had half the episodes we only get half the story/character development. Adam/Teela, Lyn/Granamyr, Orko/Gwildor etc., all would have benefited from more than a couple of lines of dialog to flesh them out and their dynamic. Still, I wouldn't call it a filler season. I appreciate the journey, however messy, these characters went on and the themes of legacy, expectations, trauma and hubris the show tried to explore. I mean, we got a freakin decapitation in MOTU. I never thought I'd see that! And it was glorious! Did it hit every swing it took? No, but I appreciate that they took them. Mind you, I only know Filmation lore. Hopefully Revolution will be received well enough where we can get all the episodes next season to tell the whole story.
Loved this season, I'm glad they finally tied things up with Adam and Teela. Hopefully next season we see Zodak introduced with a decent amount of screen time. Overall I feel the hatred for the past and current seasons is underserved.
Despite last year's fanboy rage, much of which was in my opinion undeserved, I loved this chapter of the MOTU Saga. I am absolutely looking forward to part III. Resurrection/Reunion perhaps? I want to sing the praises of Melissa Benoist as Teela. She's amazing, as are Meg Foster and Keith David as Motherboard...by far the scariest villain in a long time, and a wonderfully arrogant Hordak. Also love the new Man-At-Arms armor, and the Owl carrier. As a Stratos fan, I wanted to see more of the older Masters. Maybe next time. Overall, fantastic!
I say this as someone who really like revelation .... Revolution is. Many many times better. On every way ..about she ra. From dreamworks i did like it. If would of been great if They havent forced that. Inclusion and queernes, was totally UnNecessary And that ruined that show. Other than that it had great animation and story telling the personality of the characters was also very good .. but it did felt like Noel Made her own story with she ra characters
