Hideki Matsuyama became the first Japanese to win a major golf tournament. This is the story of the tremendous emotion of the Japanese people. What was going on in the Japanese studio at that moment?【Crying is inevitable】
The older I get, the more emotional it becomes to see others overcome adversity to achieve their dreams. We all experience it in different ways. But to endure and then eventually realise ones goals is just so great. We can all relate. In this case, Nakajima-san and Ogaawara-san come from different perspectives and life experiences, but their connection with Hideki is real and his success means something very profound. Wonderful.
Rich Lerner brought this up just bf tee off at 2022 Masters, and was glad to have found the video to it. It’s reverence for the game, the struggle and breaking barriers
The thing that strikes me most about this video is how unfortunate it was that Hideki had nobody to share the moment with thanks to Covid. He had to take what he could get from the crowd and the caddies. He must have been dying to have his friends and family there to help him celebrate the moment.
