Mastodon is always evolving and have incorporated real life experiences, mostly about loss , in a lot of their albums. especially as they got older. they’re earlier albums are incredible. Metal, southern rock, prog, two guitars, 4 vocalists, just Mastodon.

Great song from one of the absolutely best metal bands of the last couple decades. These guys are such good songwriters and have so much sick variety in their discog. What a band, shame they aren’t more popular among reactors

Mastodon is progmusic for me! I rate them higher than band like Rush, tool, opeth, Katatonia, messuggha, Watain, Pinkfloyd but to do that you must give them a very good tryout!😊

The lyrics were lifted directly from a friend of theirs who was on their death bed, they said that one line and it stuck with them so they built the entire song around that one line

this and their new one is my favorite Mastodon albums.... a lot of mastodon fans hate on this album from some reason, and praise crack the skye....which is a good album no doubt but i feel abit over rated....this album has lots of brilliant moments.
