​@@sirisso3974 No worries at all! I admit that there were times when having two moms was difficult, especially since I grew up in a southern state. I was the first person to explain to a lot of kids that gay people exist, and it was tough to understand why people were heckling us at Pride parades and HRC galas when I was little (my moms had to explain to me that they're not actually going to hell, etc.). Plus there was always a lot of unspoken tension with southern family members. But, none of that outweighs the fact that I was raised with such an open and accepting mindset, and I'm genuinely so proud to have two moms and be who I am. I feel like it made me a lot more mature than people my age, and I was ten steps ahead when it comes to connecting with people who are from different places and have different lifestyles than mine. I genuinely wouldn't change it for the world.

I was born in Argentina but parents are Chinese, so I kinda get the thing about saying I'm Argentinian when people ask about my nationality... but if they ask my ethnicity, I always say Chinese hahahaha But then comes another question "which Chinese are you?" (meaning the province...) and whenever I say my parents are one from the North of China and one is from the South (Cantonese)... they never believe me because my pronunciation is similar to Taiwanese people (well, that's because my Chinese teachers were all Taiwanese hahaha)

Most mixed kids look their parent. Issue is that people never look at features. They just look at skin complexion or colour in general and all of a sudden its "wow you look so different" when thats actually not the case 90 percent of the time.

Alot of mixed kids look like they’re parents….its nearly 2022 and people still think have different race parents is a big deal….

@@xkiss7072 No, but there is a bit of trauma associated with people not recognizing you in your parents, or one of your parents. When I was younger I would go out with my white mom and white best friend. And people would often tell my best friend that she looked just like MY Mom just because they were white and had blonde hair. Then my mom would have to correct anyone and mention that I was actually her daughter instead. That shit hurts.

The toughest part as a mixed child is that it feels like you have to choose a side, and I know that the toughest part for a parent with mix children is that people might think you're kidnapping someone else's kid.

Most mixed kids look like their parents. The mixed race girl and her mother in the hijab had many similarities features wise e.g. eyes, lips and smile etc. The only reason people think mixedrace people dont look like their parents is because they are too stuck on skin complexion or hair texture rather than bonestructure and other features. A lot of black kids dont look like their black mom/dad but people would still think they do simply because they share the same skin tone or have the same hair. Halle Berry and her mother. Tamera Mowry and her son. Barack obama is another crazy example for me because while many people say he looks like a "black man" i was shocked when i saw the foto of him and his grandfather. Different bonestructure on the bottom half but very similar. But the Mazelee family on RU-vid is an even better example. Alena second daughter shares her bone structure, eyes, nose, smile but it goes unnoticed because of her skin colour. Instead, viewers call the eldest daughter the mothers twin, simply because they are the same race and skin complexion yet they share less in common feature wise.

I kinda hate that today you can't ask about so many things because you can be accused for racism, sexism and 10 other things
