You HAVE to ask why after a few seasons of Howe’s football we STILL don’t seem to be able to string passes together, dictate possession or have devised a way of getting Isak on the ball in dangerous areas regularly! .. when other sides like Southampton, Brighton etc do it with ease there just has to be questions asked as to why we are all running and bluster ?
He wants to play for Villa. Trouble is, it won’t get in the team. If he wants to fight for his place and accepts he will be on the bench more often than not.
We’re a year older, with an aging, slow defence. It’s the same formation but without the intensity and still no holding midfielder/no. 6. We only click when there’s a high-intensity ‘identity’ because we lack quality, Isak aside. Bruno isn’t as good as we thought he was and the influence of Trippier is shot because his legs have gone. Howe doesn’t have a plan B and, although he’s changing personnel at half-time, it’s the same old players, so nothing new. Kelly is a lower half of the table player, stable and reliable enough, but no world beater. Howe is a fabulous coach and man manager but no tactician. The players Howe wants, at inflated English tax fees, show him up for what he is. Howe has taken us the first few steps of our journey very well, but we need a competent successor lined up to keep us climbing.
Joelinton has some magic great touches, but guilty of losing possession from time to time. Gordon seems to want out. Tonali looks like he's just going through the motions, and would rather be back in Italy. Bruno wasn't himself yesterday. Isak dreams of being a gunner someday. Pope a bit shaky at times.
Blame Howe for wanting overpriced players constantly which got us in a hole with PSR. Never learnt his lesson in the summer because he wanted Guehi for 70M or NOBODY!! It’s a disgrace. It’s no secret that Bournemouth’s signings since Howe left have massively improved.
@@DELUSIONALDANNYGI don't believe this is true. How does a manager (coach) overrule everyone else at the club regarding transfers? Doesn't make sense at all. It's Mitchell saving his own hide by throwing Howe under the bus.
Balanced review after a frustrating afternoon lads! Think we need to get back to using our fullbacks for width rather than trying to get them to invert like we've started this season. Lots of room to improve and options to do it I think a change to 3-5-2 gets the best out of our players and covers for some* of our deficiencies.
At the moment Pope-Tino - Schar - Kelly - Hall - Sandro -Bruno -Joelinton - Barnes - Isak Gordon the must start all the time and replace one by one according to performance on the day.
And replace him with who? Tell me 1 top manager that Newcastle could realistically get? I can see you guys getting Southgate if you do lose Howe. Howe is by far the best manager you could get at this moment in time.
Like Liam Kennedy just said, Bunce has something to do with the lack of intensity, he’s went into the training to help out and ended up making us horrific. He also said Howe is married to the 4-3-3 and that is SPOT ON!!
Shambolic is becoming a habit. I bet tonali wishes he was anywhere but here. This isn't sustainable, and a change will be due soon. The message has become stale. 4-3-3 at all costs. 500 million to revert to steve bruce ball. God help us in our next few fixtures.
On paper we are a very good, a top 6 side but in practice we are more like Bournemouth, Brentford and Wolves. This is not a player problem because the quality is there, this is a coaching/management problem. Opposition teams have found us out. They know what we are going to do, exploit our weaknesses and dominate us. We have enough quality to create big moments but we have no real offensive plan. We are treating the ball like a live hand grenade when in possession against rank average teams even at home. Right now we are playing like we did under Steve Bruce but we've not got Allan Saint Maximam to hold the ball up. We need a number 10 l to supply Isak. Imagine if Beardsley was in this team? Isak would get 35+ goals a season.
We look more like NUFC under Bruce this season. Howe has done a great job but it looks like he has lost the dressing room to me. Too many excuses from fans blaming Mitchell. No other manager has played the kind of pressing game we did. For good reason, it burns out players and injures them. Europe last season showed how bad we are in possession - the warning signs have been there for a year. Howe is a talented coach, but he isn't capable of change like Pep or Klopp are. That's why most clubs changes coach every few seasons- sooner or later the players switch off as they stop learning. Players like Gordon and Isak could be feeling they have outgrown Howe and have stopped learning?
You lot made them 2 sound like the second coming at the start of last season! 😂😂😂 tell me who you want to replace Howe? You tried to get Unai Emery but he chose Aston Villa. That’s your problem, you can’t attract the same type of players and managers as Villa can. You need to be careful what you wish for. You ain’t gonna get a world class manager like Emery. You have more chance of getting Southgate.
4-3-3 has become a busted flush .. the problem is, we don’t really have the players to play 4-2-3-1 which should suit our attacking players better. We desperately need a holding midfielder of the likes of Wharton , we’ve consistently ignored this position over several transfer windows, now we are not only missing that player but we are wasting Bruno & Tonali because of it too!
All well summed up fellas, can't disagree with owt said. Formation change needed imo, 4231 would suit us i feel, we are to predictable, Willock should maybe be our impact player rather than a starter, he gets lost in games, certainly at the moment. Obviously the Bruno and Pope incidents along with the Schar miss were a downer, and another patchy performance to boot, add, Mitchell Eales and Bunce looked crestfallen for most of the game, i get the feeling they will want their own man in, we all love Eddie I'm sure, I just think he's not their man. 😔
Howe is garbage. The longer he is here the longer the rot will become. Also the backroom chaos in this club is seriously worrying. Everybody is not themselves.
Bruno is not a captain IMO.he should be stripped of it,he has been poor in all the games as well for Brazil, but he is not alone.November could decide Eddie position
