You have a broken Toyota then… like the clutch or gearbox is screwed. My Toyota Yaris 08 5speed 4Cil 1.5L is doing just fine and can reach 0-60 in 8 seconds( that’s not bad for a 107 hp car). You just gotta know where to look.

I don't think they sell a diesel version in the UK anymore, they used to sell a 1.4 diesel in the last generation.

You should have seen these cars 15 years ago. This is actually much improved for this class in the US.

@@flyhouseoftruth470 most of it these days is keeping up with modern traffic and higher speeds of roadways. I can get 45 mpg with my 2013 Yaris yes; at 55-60 mph. I drive at 75-80 because of the flow of traffic. Traffic also loves stomping on the gas soon as the light turns green. Bet you’d get around 30 with that civic now with how traffic works. We may be at the edge of how safe and practical it is to drive faster for better time efficiency. Moral of the story; take it easy. Get home in one piece a few minutes don’t matter

On the contrary, the Yaris is much smaller than the Corolla. Yaris and Fit are direct class competitors in size, format and price.

Except for the part where the Honda Fit is not ancient like the Yaris (106 HP, 103 Ft-Lb and a 4-SPEED transmission). It's more spacious. Has more standard features. It's much more efficient. It's also faster. And are you really going to try and say that a small Honda is not reliable? Anyone who knows anything about cars can easily dispute that. If you want fun and fast at this price, you aren't going to be looking at the Yaris or the Fit, you should be looking at used Miatas or motorcycles. People buy these cars for efficiency, affordability, and practicality. The Fit is better than the Yaris in all the categories that matter. And the reason the Fit cost more is because Honda offers a top trim, and features that don't even come at all on the Yaris. You can get a Fit in the mid teens if you would like, or if you want leather and heated seats, you can get that too without spending all the extra cash upgrading to the civic, but if you like Toyota you have to upgrade to a corolla. That cash difference makes the Fit cheaper if you want to have certain features the Yaris doesn't. The Yaris is arguably the worst and least modern in the segment. Also, what's wrong with looking like a mini van? The style doesn't look the best, but gives you extra space and efficiency, key factors in the segment. People aren't looking at small hatchbacks for looks, and anyways the Fiesta is the best looking by far (baby Aston), but that only hold half of what the fit holds (seriously, look it up). I spent a lot of time researching this segment before I got my Fit, it almost always wins comparisons against any competition, and for good reason. I also haven't seen the Yaris win anything or even come close to the top in any comparison. So yeah, get the Yaris if you want something ancient, slow, small, lacking features, and not efficient.

More fun to drive and more reliable, ha. Good luck with the 4-speed auto while Fit's CVT has paddle shifts. And for the record, the Fit is more reliable than Yaris, much more space inside, more features, and is designed with serious practicality you can't find anywhere else. Yaris' interior also looks cheaper and uglier, and the exterior is just boring, just like all Toyota. There's no competition here, it's as if Toyota isn't even trying. The Fit is superior hands down.

Lol Less reliable? I own cars from both companies. It is like a toss of dices. Both cars can be as reliable as how the owner use and maintain it! Yaris boring to drive but with bullet proof engine and transmission. Fit engine is loud but it pumps out more horse power for the same engine size. As the old saying goes, "You don't get something for nothing!" So pick your own pill!

@@CorneliusOfford I plan on getting the Fit but I also like the Yaris 1.5 with its 5 Speed Manual Transmission. But since you own a Fit, how much it costs to maintain it and have you noticed any problems so far ?
