Matchbox restoration Mercury Park Lane Police Car No 55. Diecast version regular and superfast 

I had to go into hospital after losing the tip of a finger when I was about 5 or 6. My uncle visited and brought me half a dozen Matchbox cars.. Just looking at the artwork on the boxes took me away from that hospital.. Pure magic.. Paul is helping keep those special memories alive..👍

Excellent resto paul those boxes look amazing the superfast box is a very early design known as the 1969 box note when you read the baseplate it says no 55 or 73 thats because matchbox made a mercury station wagon in green which is no 73 the bases on the police car and the station wagen are the same size and they both have no 55 or 73 on them probably this was a money saving thing that matchbox did

Ha! I am working on 6 of these myself... A few are fire cheif's and I also have one of the police cars with the blue light :~) Man do I need a few of those beacons (just ordered some led diodes that will hopefully fit), There is also estate versions of these using the same base.

They both look as good as new, good job there Paul! What do you use for the mold that you drop the blue resin into?

I assume you do minimal restoration so they match the original factory production and I assume you probably keep them for your own collection my question is do you ever really detail them outside of factory looks? I imagine they would be so beautiful.

Nice. However, could've you mixed the two bodies? At the beginning of the vid, it's the Super fast one that has a huge gap between the body and the base, while the older one is pretty tight and at the end of the vid, it's the opposite.
