Hi Marty, Another great restoration. ..I too was born in 1962 & remember milk floats with their milkmen delivering the early morning milk to your door..Red top, Silver top & the full cream Gold topped foil capped bottles, The term milk float was usually referring to electric purpose built vehicles that used to float along quietly at dawn so as not to wake up the neighbourhood. This commercial vehicle had a normal engine & would have been used for delivering milk to more rural homes that had a distance not suited to electric floats. Keep up the good work, Kevin was great..
Your newspaper stories are wonderful... who gives you the inspiration for them all...? P.S... Keep up your excellent work... reviving these old favourites brings much joy to everyone...
What fun to see a freshly restored milk truck. I had one as a kid, and recently acquired one to add to my collection. I’m old enough to remember the milkman delivering our milk in glass bottles using a wire basket. Mom would bring out the empties and bring in the new ones.
Enjoyed this one. I had one of these models as a boy, in the sixties. Glad to see as much care and attention going into this project as any of the others.
I'm a 1970s kid but I too remember being given ones of these as little boy, second hand no doubt, because it was a bit battle worn even when I first got it. Great work sir.
In the past I always went to my yoga class, but now that I have discovered you, this is no longer necessary. I am tremendously relaxing from watching your video. thank you. This also saved me a lot of money.
Hi Marty. Years ago I had plenty of these cars and trucks and as a kid I had no forethought as to what they may become. Your videos are both enlightening and frustrating as I did not no what I had at at the time. I now have a better appreciation of those good old Matchbox models. Thanks Marty.
After some time I realized that I watch your films because of the interesting press you keep in the painting corner. Thanks to this, being in Warsaw, I know what is happening in the second half of the globe ... LOL!
I have no idea what I was looking for when I stumbled upon your videos, but I got stuck here. And this is a place I don't mind getting stuck. Love your work, and all the details. Keep it up!
You're a real gem, Marty! Kevin is a real treat! I want to thank your viewers for giving me over 500 views on that "thank you" video I made, and I hope that you have a wonderful, healthy and prosperous new year. from Roy and the gang.
Marty, my 10 yo and I watch your makeovers religiously. We drop everything as soon as we get an alert that you've posted a new video. Laying down some great memories watching him crack up about your wife's toothbrush and Kevin the koala and all the other jokes you slip in. I also enjoy the nostalgia of seeing you give these old beauties new life. (I also had this milk truck as a child. :-)). Thanks for your great videos!
Nice to see Kevin being safety conscious around Machinery. A nice touch of humour with koala. loved the video and all your restorations. Thank you for posting them.
HI Marty. I still have over a hundred Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars and trucks my brother and I had when we were kids, and they're stored in blue Matchbox carry cases in the bottom of my hall closet. This video came up in my feed today and I recognized the milk bottle truck right away. I remember it was the pale green, however for some reason I painted in a dark green metallic colour. Great work on the restoration. Thanks again.
I usually watch "baremetalHW" videos on diecast restoration, and almost didn't click on your video because I felt like nobody could do it better than him~ Boy am I glad I clicked anyway!~ I love your humor, and could listen to you for hours!~ Cheers!~
I still have this one of course ever since I was a boy. I kept them all. Still in very good condition I always took care of my toys it's wrapped up in toilet paper (it's a thing I always did when I was a kid ) with all the rest of my Matchbox Whizzwheels Corgis and hot wheels. Glad to see it turned out so well. Good job!!!
It always amazes me when you see dislikes to the video but then there are no comments to back up what they didn’t like. Excellent restoration as always Marty. It’s so nice to see these vehicles restored back to way they looked when they were new. They probably came in boxes, Shame you can’t recreate them too.
I also have this model in my collection. I wish it is in better shape. One day i will start my own restoration. This is one of the cutest model Matchbox ever made.
Marty, that was a great clean up. Loved it especially as I drove a Commer milk tuck briefly in the late 70's - pride of the fleet she was not by then - especially after the battery boiled up! That might haven't been a disaster but the battery was under the driver's seat! Congratulations your work made me fond of the old truck ---- well almost!
I'm in awe at the subtle details in your videos, the apps on the phone were a great touch. The milk float turned out fantastic too. Thanks for sharing!
My 5yr old daughter watches these vids with me from time to time. Koalas are sort of her thing after a visit to the zoo last year. She got a real kick outta Kevin and It made the vid all the more enjoyable for me. Take care Marty!
I Might need a new place to live. Just told the wife, waking up on saturday, seing a post from Marty, is almost better than when we go to bed on friday. 🥴
Great work Marty.. Say hi to Kevin...lol I sneeze pretty hard but I haven't blown the Misses hair off yet.. Thanks so much for your time and another great restoration...😀
Jeez, I remember doing some landscaping at my grandparents house, and finding vehicles that I'd accidentally buried in the sixties while playing with them. Dinky, Corgi, Matchbox, Lindsey. The good stuff. Found pics of models I built in '70-'71. Real flashbacks.
