Great stuff ! Reminds me of being a kid. i was obsessed with records ever since i was a toddler & used 2 listen 2 my uncles when i went 2 my grand parents house at weekends. Could never understand how side 2 of this played 2 different things LOL !
such a joy to listen to this album again, been along minute since I last heard it. also appreciating that I am so much older and know so much more of the world to understand the underlaying intent of their sketches. bravo Pythons!!!
+R Gray I had a somewhat similar experience with the Abbey Road LP. My friends and I had already listened to it several times. Each time, we turned it over to start again after The End, or just turned the stereo off -- until one time none of us felt like getting up. Lo and behold: Her Majesty!
Until i figured it out this record made me question my sanity i thought i was hallucinating the 3rd side . there are other records that were like this .... i wonder if it can be done on a cd? easter egg play at random? it could be done on a digital download i think....... it could not be done on the 8 track tape could it? .... or cassette tape? was it even on 8 track?.... i remember i got it on columba house record club back then......
I loved this album! But for weeks I as confused why sometimes I heard this and sometimes not. It finally dawned on me that there was a second groove I could access with good timing and I could hear the "other" side. Brilliant! Leave it to Monty Python to produce a 3-sided album!
