It is a worthy goal. I was 32 when I bought mine in 1992. I had to wait months for it. They sent me a letter saying they had reserved a chassis for me. I went to sleep with visions of amplifiers dancing in my head. Ah, gear lust, it never goes away.

You just cannot build a quality amp like they do and be more economical. Compared to builders in their niche market they are priced appropriately. Also they are a lifetime purchase. I bought mine in 1992 and it has never let me down and it will never be up for sale.

Matchless amps rule! Anybody who says these amps are too expensive is a cheap bastards who doesn't care about their craft. Phil's got this new platform right on. It'll likely be my next purchase.

Everything they do is so tightly quality controlled at their small West Los Angeles shop, I doubt it would work. They are a very small USA company and don't do the volume of Vox or Fender. Phil oversees every aspect of the production and I think that is why it would be very hard to do what you are suggesting without tremendous volume. The Avalon is the budget offering and it still ain't cheap. Nor doe it sound like it.
