Pier Paolo Pasolini's marvellous, moving 1964 classic Il Vangelo Secondo Matteo brought me to this walk and I can understand why he used this location to film one of the greatest movies on the life of Christ ever. Matera's ancient vistas and streets have a timelessness and are truly magical and awe-inspiring. Thank you so much for this sublime walk.
Been there in 2018. Still totally in love with this place - never seen anything even remotely comparable to it before... nor after. Thank you for such a great way to revisit it from home!

I cannot imagine living in a place that has so lovingly designed around the topography, incorporating the buildings into the rock and along the shape of the hillside.
That is an amazing place, the streets are like a video game and just when you think you are lost in some dark area, you arrive in a sunny street with people and restaurants and views of the past and present. 007 #NoTimeToDie 😉 The oldest continuously lived in town in Italy (est. 10000BC) and somehow intertwined with a very true - even if not glamorous - history of the native populations; there was a time it was very, very desperately poor, and I'm glad that it's now at least somehow recognized as interesting to visit

Italia e la pui Bella del mondo e storica e nostalgica. Italy is the favorite place for history for me there’s building that goes back to the Roman Empire and even further back like the Etruscans and so on

This is one of the most unusual and fascinating towns I have ever seen in Italy. I did not even know it existed. Of course I had to do some research on it after watching it all! Thank you ProWalk...you must be very fit walking up and down all those steps.

I really really enjoyed it this video walking tour of beatiful Matera and thank you for your great job!!!!!!! I 've only heard about the city of Matera , years ago, but i did't know the history or how beautiful and mysterious looks like , untill 2 months ago that started to watch the italian tv series "sorelle". This city was the real protagonist among the actors and actresses and one of the reasons i loved the series. And few weeks ago, i learnt that also the new James Bond film was shoot there !!!! Thank you for your work , and thanks to the city of Matera that they preserve their history and beauty of their city and share it with the world. This is one of the most magical places there is in Italy and although I've never visited, every time I see a video of it (there aren't many) I get goosebumps! Carlo Levi, the writer, was exiled here during Fas!sm. If I am not mistaken he wrote one of his literary masterpieces "Cristo si è fermato a Eboli" here. It was commentary on the social economic status of this part of Italy at the time. Before I leave this world, this is the only place I wish to visit ...still. Your video is just outstanding. Just enough captions to inform us, without distracting from the illusion of actually being there; stopping occasionally to look in more detail at those interesting things we were hoping you would give us a closer or longer look at. I may never get to visit these amazing places you're taking us through, but I'll feel as though I have, and that makes me very happy.

Hi Linda, I'm glad you enjoyed the walk. I had planned to hike from one side of the ravine up the other side...but I was too tired that day. :) It is really a great place to visit. I just wear regular running shoes. I am not too picky. :) I hope you can visit Matera some day and sip on your tea.
Matera looked familiar as I watched your video, then I remember . . . Redbull had the Freerunner competition there. I thought that was a lovely city, and now seeing more of it, I see the richness of Italian history.

Yeah Italy has a lot of small towns. Matera is famous for be the third most ancient city in the world. It's 10.000 years, there was life here from Paleolithic, in the caves, today visitables.
Been to Matera a few times. If your viewers think its amazing during the day if they go there themselves I suggest the make time to see it at night. They'll never forget it
Hey Isaac, you should do a promo somehow that people can take this walk with you and see locations of No Time to Die. I watched this again last night and noticed this time the captions that mentioned No Time to Die. Of course when you filmed this, you expected the movie would come out in a few months, not October 2021! Loved when you pointed out the spot where the motorcycle does its huge leap in the movie! It is a beautiful town, as is pretty much every other hilltop town and village in Italy. No wonder pretty much every Daniel Craig Bond movie has done some shooting in Italy! Well done!

오래전 유럽여행하며 로마시내에 유학중인 여동생집에 머물며 관광명소들을 구경하고 맛있는 이탈리아 전통음식도 먹었던 즐거운 추억이 떠올라 즐거워요. 성모승천대축일이 결혼기념일이었는데 베니스 산 마르코 광장에서 성당과 명소들도 보고 결혼기념일 축하겸, 멋진 레스토랑에서 와인을 곁들인 만찬을 먹었던 추억도 떠오르고 마지막으로 신혼여행을 떠났던 기분으로 기차를 타고 프랑스에서 몇일동안 지내며 여행하고 쇼핑하고 돌아와 하와이에서 살고 있어요. 오래된 이탈리아 고건축물을 보니 즐거워요.

i have watched alot of videos about walking in old cities, but this one has different kind of feeling, and secondly, italian climate is most beautiful climate in the world, bright, sunny and charming..
I feel also it is very a much a good and interesting, relaxing walk around the city. Especially when one cannot be there in reality, so I really appreicate the clever filming of Matera.
Un lugar bellísimo, mostrado con lujo de detalles que me transportaron a esa ciudad. Además el equipo y la persona que hizo la filmación son de un profesionalismo excelentes. Si bien la cámara se mueve de un lado a otro mostrando los mas mínimos detalles, la imagen está firme, sin vibraciones ni movimientos normales como cuando uno sube o baja escaleras. Realmente no se como lo lograron. Yo soy aficionado al video y jamás logré esa perfección.
