thank you for this video, gave me alot of insight and if i may as a question which is; what are other plasters that can be used or can it only be herculite?

Herculite Hardcoat is great because it sets slowly. But if you are not in the UK, you must find an equivalent - something that sets very slowly and sets hard

Hi thank you for sharing! Im trying to learn the technic im in Argentina and i made one table for my own but it broke in the midle. I dont know if I put much glue water or much plaster.. can you give me a tip of the quantities of each I need to make a table of let say 50 by 100 cm and let say 2 cm ? Should i put some material in the middle so it doesn’t break? Additional question, I’m going to Lndon in May ... do you sell the pigments?

I buy my pigments from Cornellison in London. You can strengthen the plaster with fibreglass matting or jute scrim, mixed with runny plaster and laminated to the back of the scagliola

@@santiagoaragon8552 hola y gracias x tu respuesta! Lo hice con escamas de cola de conejo que diluí. La tabla tenía 100*40*2,5 cm y se partió al medio.

hey ! thanks so much ! i’m just starting and am still a little confused about the glue to water ratio?!

Soak glue overnight 2:1 water : glue then melt that in the morning, in a Bain Marie, then dilute 1:10 or 1:20 or weaker if you want a faster set

Aaaaaand THEN what?!? IDK... I'm a TOTAL layman when I'm looking at something like this. It SOUNDS like it's pretty cool material. Another question is how "Structural" is this stuff? Is it as hard as, say, marble or is it simply glorified gypsum? A LOT of questions left unanswered here... but hey!! A GREAT start!!! That's for sure. Would be cool to see a follow-up video on this. The measuring, the mixing, the application... to "Finishing". IDK, maybe a LOT to ask but curiosity is TOTALLY piqued. Dial's up to "11" now. Heh! Thanks for sharing this part of the process. Cheers!!

Hello!I ask you to write (by ear, I unfortunately do not understand well) in what proportion you dilute bone glue with water.Than you slow down the process of setting gypsum.Do you use some kind of special plaster, or will any brand be suitable? Thanks! And also, please tell me what would you recommend for the operation of the finished product in an open area, and not indoors.I would like to make a gravestone. Thanks again!

Hello. I use a plaster called herculite hardcoat. It sets very slow and hard. That is what you need. The animal glue must soak in water overnight at a proportion 1:2 , then be warmed to melt it, then diluted at least 1:10 with water, or 1:20 or whatever, depending on how slow you want the set. Scagliola is no good outside though; the weather will destroy it !
