For me, easy solution... 1) a * b = 99 99 - 3 33 - 3 11 - 11 a= 11 ; b = 9 (a+b) * (a-b) = 40 20 * 2 = 40 Test: 121 - 81 = 40

We shall revise the precondition to a*b>0, so that a=-11, b=-9 is another root.

Also if we take b=99/a and then replace the second item of 1st equation, it will simplify the calculation a lot.
