Wetness is defined as how well a liquid adheres to a surface; water on its own isn’t wet, an object can become wet when doused in water (though not necessarily, such as with a hydrophobic surface). Wit this definition, it doesn’t really make sense to ask if a liquid is wet because it’s not describing a property of a liquid, it’s describing a specific effect a liquid might have on something else.

Edit: and a wiffle ball topologically has eight holes, because their ‘connectedness’ is irrelevant. If you morphed the ball so one of the holes was very large, and squished everything else into a doughnut-like shape, you’d see one hole in the middle of the doughnut, and the other seven holes piercing the side of the doughnut around the edge.

@TobyHine lol, no it's not well defined. It references one word, that word references another word and so on and so forth. Hole has many definitions and those definitions use words that also have many definitions and based on which you use you can make almost anything a hole or not a hole. Except in very specific jobs where they might have hole as a term of art with specific work definitions, those might have sufficiently defined the word in that specific context, but no standard dictionary has a definitive answer that is satisfactory.

Yes it is. Though interestingly, when I had a little Google deep dive a couple of months a go to see when we started to classify it as a number, I learned that we also didn't think 1 is a number for a pretty long time, so that's pretty interesting.
