He is idyllic. Articulate, eccentric, poetic, philosophical, almost archaic in some sense. Such a sharp and brilliant mind. A gift to us all.

I don't understand why he is in some sense archaic, but the mathematics that he do is so modern and complicated, that can twist your brain into some non-smooth shape. ;)

It is *extremely* rare to find humility in great minds, Villani included.

I mistook Cedric Villani for Grigori Perelman, the man who solved the Poincare Conjecture and refused the Fields Medal and the Clay Institute Price. To me they look a bit alike (I guess the beard)

Great Professor VILLANI. Sejak December 2020 sampai SEKRANG.

Mathematical from the ants: the humble ant is not only capable of solving difficult mathematical problems, but is even able to do what few computer algorithms can - adapt the optimal solution to fit a changing problem. Mathematical from the worms: Worms employ this "Hot or Cold" computation in their search for food-but with an added twist. First, a neural cell picks up the scent of food and set the worm on a course. As long as the scent intensity keeps getting stronger, this neural cell will remain active and direct the worm to keep moving forward. Otherwise, it will instruct the worm to stop and look for a better path. But how does it calculate that better path? Enter a second neural cell which acts like Waze's "recalculating route" function. This second cell senses "derivatives," meaning it calculates whether the odor intensity is positive, and getting "hotter," or negative, and getting "colder." If the cell detects a negative derivative, it understands that it's getting further from the chocolate cake and needs to recalculate its route. This cell constantly computes new scent data to detect whether the current odor intensity is getting stronger or weaker and charts a path based on these new differential measurements. With a negative reading, the second cell will tell the worm to chart a new path whereas a positive one will tell it to stay the course. We have adopted some curious semantic behaviors in our discussions of mathematics. In the same way that words form the human language, we commonly regard mathematics as the language of the universe. We say that when Newton sought to formalize his theories, he invented calculus. A primitive society has not yet created a mathematical logic, but a mathematician discovers results of a theorem. We have many ways of describing how we interact with mathematics, but one must inquire which version best represents reality.

I would never have thought he would ever become a politician...I mean, haha...I only really become aware of him in relatively recent times, and only wached videos where he was talking about math from years before he did that (or so I think)...never actually watched a debate with Macron he did, just saw the thumbnail didn't think he did it as a politician...he never missed an occasion to mock politicians...he says about Henri Poincaré "his brother was only the president of France" or something like that, not sure if that's how it goes...I thought he had a general disdain for politicians (he brought up the brilliance of Thomas Jefferson and expressed surprise a politician could think, haha, or something like that)...I would never think he would turn to politics himself, haha...I mean...and he seems to have done so before I even started watching his videos, since 2017...I just didn't watch any videos that would have shown me that was the case...

In the French cultural environment, great and decisive intelligence kicks ass. This is amplified by the fact that he expresses himself in a language that is not his native language. Would you be able to present in a foreign language ? You would surely come across in a different, more simplified and less nuanced manner :)

I think he’s trying to articulate and at the same time is very passionate about what he’s saying
