Asia's only hill station, which is Automobil free and India's smallest hill station "Matheran".
I loved this place for many reasons. Toy Train, Horse Riding, Manual Rickshaw, Amazing Sights,
Delicious Maharatrian cuisins and so many monkeys.
I stayed there 2 nights and 3 days. I reached by my own vehicle and parked it at Aman Lodge area (3 Km. away from MAtheran).
From there i went till Matheran by Horse. I paid INR 550/- for Horse ride till Matheran which was 20 minutes ride. For luggage carry, i also took help of coolie, who charged INR 400/-
To visit different spots on Matheran, you can opt Horse or Rickshaw, both have generally same prices.
Next day morning, i visited to Rambagh and other points by horse, which took around 2.5 hrs and i paid INR 1000/-.
While returning from Matheran to Aman Lodge , i came by toy train and took 1st class ticket which cost INR 180 for me (as a child). But for adult it's INR 300.
All the above prices given above are just for your reference. I had visited Matheran in May'23 but prices may vary based on season, peak time and your bargaining skills.
Just beware of Monkeys there.
