How to reach Matheran:
1. Catch Karjat/Khopali train, get down at Neral station.
2. From Neral Station you will get share taxi @ Rs.100 per person. You will reach Matheran in just 20 min.
3. For going inside the Matheran, you have 3 options i.e. Toy train, e-auto rickshaw & horse ride
a. Toy Train: Frequency is very less, you need to wait in queue for the tickets. But you must take this experience once in a life. One way cost is Rs. 55.
b. E-auto Rickshaw: It is best & cheapest mode. You may get little rush on weekends but not as toy train. They have just started this auto facility. One way cost is Rs. 35. I would personally recommend this.
c. Horse Ride: Go for it only if you like to ride the horse, but you will need bargaining skills for that. Rates quoted by the Horse owners are too high, you can negotiate up to half of the price quoted
There are total 12 points, you will take approximately 4-5 Hrs to cover all the points.
