Love Yourself yes sadly. Not dark skinned men though...my experience as a black women is different from a black women with brown to fair skin. I go through more hurdles than they do, but we still stick together
Colorism affects every cultute: East Asians, Latinos, Italian/ Scillians. Go to another to visit and pay attention to how dark skin men/ women are treated.
Yeah my equal, we don't be lying when we bring this stuff up. Especially when we just learn even more fucked up things like why y'all never told us about this? Yell
Black women today say this colorism comes from black men. But he clearly states his mother instilled this in him . A lot of mothers also do this with their daughters hair etc ...
I see people in the comments blaming the mother for this mentality ( because it’s always the women’s fault) but none stops to think about the trauma she must have endured to make her feel so low about herself, no one wakes up hating themselves, environment and society impacts way we view others and ourselves
Nonya Bidness Ironically, he went to Fisk. He also wrote in his bio, I believe it was “Soul of Black Folks” he wanted to marry Lena Horne’s granny ( forgot her name) but she told him no cus he was dark. It’s funny but sad cuz Dubious was about Beyoncé’s color but even he was too dark for her despite his potential and intelligence. Smh
Beede Bawng black sorority, the prettiest black girls in the university are supposed to be in it. Or at least the way they want it, the light skinned girls..
C.J. Love, sadly like most black women hence the bleaching, non-african conforming looks, and deep secret desire to be with a white male to have lightskin childeren and even lighter grandchildern if possible.
The way his mother spoke isnt much diffrent then what Dominican ( Caribean) or Surinamese ( South America) or even ppl from Angola (africa)say to there children..this aint no new thing or old thing its still a current thing. Its so crazy...its still a issue. I like his knowledge he is allways real and ppl respect him for it.
Damn, "Don't bring no nappy headed black girl home." Yeah it was secretive because he would be Bigger Thomas in Native Son...get in all kinds of trouble.
Wow, the 80's??? Just in my lifetime..wow, so many mixed kids born in the 80's just like I was born in the 80's.. I wonder if their parents were seeing each other illegally. I was born in '86, just 4 years before the 90s began. I can't picture that being a law back in 1986 unless it was the early 80s when they did away with it. Still can't imagine the early 80s or even 70s this being a law.
Mix children be around longer than that Sis trust, things were kept under the rug back in those days. You had biracials Most that could pass for whites without people really knowing. There was a movie about blacks passing as white. It was called Imitations Of White it’s an old 1950’s classic 💯
I have biracial family members born in the 60's and 70's. The historical debauchery in this interview shows an almost proud decline in the American educational system. Nine states nvr enacted anti-miscegenation laws while others (like in the deep south) didn't overturn them until the late 60's. This is why the civil war took place because this country was divided and used race as an 'economic carcass' to chomp and feed on as a political pivot point because the psychopaths running this country had a deep investment and stake in human labor and capital that turned galactic sized profits beyond their dreams. He was confined to the deep south where there was an all out war on blk ppl's humanity. Daily.
Matthew basically did what I did for awhile, only in reverse. I only dealt with really light-skinned black women growing up, but over time, I realized I did that because I wanted white girls, but didn't have the 'social courage' to be in interracial relationships. Eventually, I developed that courage, and never looked back. i don't even hate black women. Some people think you have to hate black women to be with white women, but that is not true in my case. If I'm walking through WalMart, for instance, I will check out the black chicks, but they don't hold my attention. Shiit, I called WalMart, 'PawgMart', 'cause I can go post up in there for an hour, and come up on three numbers of some thick as FUCK white women.
It depends on your definition of lyricist. In my opinion it's a common myth that Pac wasn't one. He has some great rhymes and wordplay as well. People just like to claim he wasn't for whatever reason.
Matthew Knowles I don’t like his Energy their is something sinister and creepy about him it’s like he is sneaky and a Uncle Tom something about his Energy is offf way offf
@Dracula Wannaboogiedown In the interview he talks about how his mom told him not to bring a black girl home, while being black herself. You still see it today how some black people put people that are dark(er) skinned down and what not.
As sickening as that sounds I found out that there are STILL Black mothers that talk and think like his mother. I was like whaaaaat??? Self hate at its best!!!
Mathew Knowles aint lying about those times because im his daughter age and I remember how my mother had to try to protect me and my siblings from racism and violence
I've been dealing with this my entire life and I just recently called some of my loved ones out about how they made differences in us as kids. My color changes because I like the sun. On top of that...I have EXTREMELY kinky hair. Now, I watch how some people make differences in our three daughters because they are all different colors.
The time they have around your children should be limited...and if they can't get it right...no time is good too. Don't allow them to traumatize your babies hun!
I'm glad he's talking about this because it's definitely happening as we speak. Colorism exist sadly and I have experienced it in the black community before I went around Whites
I've dibbled and dabbled with a few snowflakes in my day. I've got so many stories about them to the point that I can write a book on the subject. They always brought drama into my life in a way that no "black" woman never has. Smh. I guess that's why blue jays flock with blue jays.
Aspiring Musician Have you ever been involve with any in the southern states of Arkansas, or Louisiana or any other state where racism could be a factor? If not then that's why?
@King Treal, my brother the snowflakes in the last 2 dacades have changed the snowbunnies.....let me just say the environmental change had a ''thick'' effect on the snowbunnies they eating good hahaha
@@liamhobe5837 He also abused his family and children all his life, in horrendous ways, and this is common knowledge. Are you really giving him credit?! Wtf?!
