Just picked this bow up about an hour ago at the local shop. All black with neon yellow strings/cables 60# with 27" draw. They gave me a deal on too 700 out the door after tax. I couldn't be happier. It shot, held, felt so smooth.
Its so nice to finally find a review on the halon 32 thats not by a guy with 30 inch draw length. This review was super helpful in making up my mind between the no cam an the halon 32. Thank you 👍👍
I love my halon 32 first bow going on my first hunt ever soon east Texas can not wait. Archery has really taught me patience I can't speak highly enough about it. Excited to get out there and harvest a buck.
I have been having problems with the bow I have now Obsession K34. I have lost almost 100lbs and thought I was weak form that loss. I put lower pound limbs on it and at 42lbs it was still hard for me to draw. So with all my years of archery I started thinking about the cam system. I went to my local Mathews dealer and was looking for a No Cam, they dont carry it any more for lack of sales. They set up a Halon 32 in the 6 inch brace height and 29inch draw. We set the bow up 46lbs and it was so smooth. I think it could have been set at 55 and I would have had no problem. Im am sold on the Halon and will be buying one soon. I have also shot Hoyt for over 20 years. My last Mathews was a Q2.
Jeff -- I am looking at buying a new old stock Halon 32 5. I was wondering what brace height your bow was. From everything I am seeing, the 6-inch best, most forgiving shooter. I'll be shooting at 29.5/65. The 5 is all that I have seen available new so far, but was just wondering your opinion on that. I've shot the Mathews VXR and love it. It was my No. 1 pick with the Elite Kure being a relatively close second and all the others far behind. But this will be my first ever bow, and I want to get the most bang for the buck, and make the right decision...given all the other expenses related to being a first-time bow hunter. NOS feels like the right way to go. Love the channel though, you're a wealth of hunting and habitat knowledge. You, the Hunting Public fellas and Seek One have rekindled a fire in me.
I currently shoot the halon 6 and love it. I pull 70lbs and 29inch draw. My problem is when I'm at full draw I have to tilt my head down a bit to get my nose on the string. Would the halon 32 help me out quit a bit so I don't have to move my head at all once at full draw?
86keen man that is a great question! Of course with my 27" draw I do not have to worry about that at all. With your draw only being 2" longer, it would seem like the longer bow would help you out a lot! Definitely worth a shooting test if you can get ahold of one to try out. I would be curious what you think of the balance of one vs the other. I am very happy with how it feels...makes me want to go shoot dots with it indoors!
Whitetail Habitat Solutions thanks for the reply and I may try that. I was very accurate with my no came and shoot the halon very well. But I noticed that string angle is exaggerated when I'm hunting 20 feet up here in Iowa. Thinking a more forgiving angle might benefit me. Love the halon it's my favorite. So if I can take all the benefits of the halon and add 2 inches to the bow it might just be a win win. Wife will be pissed I told her I was done buying a new bow every year but maybe I can hold true to that with the halon 32 lol. Happy hunting and have a Merry Christmas
Justin Reid yea u might be right. I just measured my span and its 74inches. So looks like I should try jumping up to a 29.5DL. Fuck and I already ordered the new halon 32
Where did you get the Quiver with the Sitka Pattern on it? I just bought a Halon 32 with the Subalpine pattern but i'm having problems finding accessories.
matthew king ...Straight from Mathews, with the bow. I honestly do not thing the Subalpine is even out yet for Mathews, but should be soon! We saw it at the ATA, so I know it is just around the corner...
Whitetail Habitat Solutions...I hope it's out...the bow shop I ordered from yesterday said they would have it by Monday. I will let you know how it looks.
