It was so great meeting you as well! Seeing your colorful work in person and talking to you was the highlight of our trip to Matlacha for sure. Thank you so much Leoma! 💓🤩🎨
This is a special video from our visit to Matlacha before it took a direct hit from Hurricane Ian in October 2022. Our hearts are with this adorable little town and we're excited to see the progress Leoma Lovegrove and the town is making to rebuild. 💗
Matlacha FL... HIPPIEVILLE X 10... LOL. Hurricane Ian destroyed it but the Vibe lives on... AND always will. You can smell the Pot Smoke as you ride Thru...Don't expect any Luxury, but good food and booze. Just stay High and you will have a Great time here.
Welcome to Florida! Matlacha is a beautiful area to visit if you have the chance. They were really affected by the hurricane earlier in the year. I'm sure they'll have all their beautiful color back soon. Thanks for watching!
The village looks like parts of Mexico! (: Love that breakfast! The food sequences of your videos are always so mouth-watering! (; You guys do such a great job with your camera work! The videos are always so incredibly beautiful! Can you share the reasons for all the name changes of your wonderful channel? I started watching when it was called Seeking Saturdays!
I know! Matlacha really is an out of the way place to visit but such an interesting and colorful little town. We always love making the most delicious food that makes us feel our best. Our channel has evolved over time and we changed the name to focus what the channel is about. In the beginning "Seeking Saturdays" was about the journey to financial freedom and the idea of "Making every day Saturday." That's still our big goal but the name was too vague for people to understand when we said it. "Adventurous Vegans" brought more focus on adventure with a theme of vegan food, but people focused too much on the "vegan" part instead of the adventure. We still follow a plant-based lifestyle but we want it to be more in the background. "PS Adventures" stands for Paul & Sarah and is about our adventures which is what we always meant it to be in the end. It's an evolution! Thanks so much for the question Freeman!
You missed one of the most famous places on the island, PINELAND, Was owned by the one time president of the United Mine Workers, John L. Lewis. It is a larger somewhat secret estate.
Oh wow! We visited Pine Island just nearby but only had enough time that day for Matlacha. Thanks for the idea though! We'll have to look it up when we're passing through again. 😊
It is! She's got a lot of style and loves her art! Our hearts go out to her after the hurricane. Matlacha is such a cute little town full of beautiful souls. We hope they can rebuild quickly and get back to their colorful art. 🎨
Sweet! Definitely check it out. Matlacha is a really cute. With it being so small, you really have a chance to explore all the little stores and shops. The only thing is that we heard that artist Leoma Lovegrove is moving her studio from Matlacha to downtown Fort Myers, which should be happening any day now.
So great to hear from you Rick and Judy! It's definitely an out-of-the-way kind of place but fun to see what a little town can do to attract visitors. We're surprised to hear of so many people having already visited. Leoma was so nice! We wish we could've videoed some of her artwork. It's so unique and colorful based around travel.
I know right? It seemed like it was one of the few actual hotels in the area. The town is so cute though and worth a visit if you're passing through especially to take a kayak. Thanks so much for watching!
So happy that you enjoyed the video Renea! We love traveling through other traveler's videos to far off places. There are quite a few cute places to stay in Matlacha. It's also not too bad of a drive from the west coat of Florida. Enjoy your trip if you go!
Yes, so sad! While the area will never be exactly the same, we hope the rebuilding process will bring it back to the sweet town we knew! We actually did a series of videos in that area right before the hurricane. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MT0pR6M1M94.html --> Here's one where we tour the "dome homes" that fell into the ocean during the hurricane!
