Matlock to- to give you a heads up that it is a lawyer show...Kathy Bates, to show you that the dialogue is going to be crackling. The target audience is the elderly and anyone that appreciates this actress. It's already hitting on all cylinders coming out the door - except maybe the youngest generation who have never heard of either...but you can never be that inclusive in any TV show. @@robd1859

Matlock Season 1 Trailer 1946OM 17.9.24 she's master of thee house, for sure... thing is, dude... this is gonna be akin to columbo or murder she wrote.... it'll be a show which will be touted and championed from on high until the audience parrot this hyperbole and the affectionate blurb, as dished out by CBS, none stop. after which the show will be rerun ad nauseam and never seem to date or age. a timeless classic - wherein the fashions are always gonna be relevant and the cases never recalled to any degree wherein you think: ffs i'm watching a repeat. ace.

❤ just watched the first episode. I have always been a big fan of Kathy Bates and love everything I have ever seen her play, right down to Mrs. Fowler on the big bang theory. I am not a fan of remakes and i am so happy to say this is not a remake. Matlock was a part of my childhood, my parents were big on Andy Griffith and his matlock was fun to watch, he was clever and sneaky without being underhanded or corrupt. The new matlock Carrie's the same traits but the twist at the end of the episode actually caught me by surprise. Now i can't wait for the next episode. Thank you Kathy Bates for sharing your talent throughout my life, TOO WANDA 😊

I am also a fan of Kathy Bates. Her work is absolutely incredible. She is incredibly talented. However, WHY, WHY re-boot a franchise that Andy Griffith made famous, why? Why not make a show about Law with Kathy Bates Starring? No instead they chose to ride the coattails of an already fully established franchise. This is another incredibly sickening cash grab. Completely disrespectful towards the originals work!

At first, when I heard they were having a Matlock revival I was cautious. I didn’t think the show would be interesting or good but after seeing this trailer, I’m excited I can’t wait to watch it. I don’t know when it’s coming up, but I’m excited

I have seen most of the Matlock series and I guarantee my grandfather saw them all as well as Perry Mason He also liked Kathy Bates and since he is gone as he was when Chicago finally won the World Series, I will also approve of this Matlock reboot for him, so far it is her usual top notch acting, love her style and love to hate her when she is NASTY, she does it so well. For some some reason she reminds me of Anthony Hopins in versatility with character's. In Home of their own one of my favorites she minds me of my aunt with 6 kids and single then married died and single again stayed single. Tough character but I liked her passion and dedication.

It’s not supposed to be like the original Matlock. She happens to have same last name as the Andy Griffith character, and that’s supposed to be the joke, same last name but totally different style and show. Kathy bates said the show supposed to be a Matlock reimagined.

Honestly I thought it was a continum from the original story arc, where Kathy Bates was Ben's daughter who had moved from Atlanta to restart her practice. That or Ben prob worked on a major case which allowed him to start a major law firm from which His daughter carried the torch into a new era of practice and criminology but still using that down south bloodhound work ethic..
