I have the srs and it’s the best guitar ! The tone is beautiful. James Taylor plays guitars with western red cedar so if you’re looking for his type of tone u can’t go wrong with the srs
Both guitars sound very comparable to each other. The TE model has a little more tonal range, imo. Both have that distinct woody sound that Maton Guitars seem to have. I love them both.
Excellent comparison wished it had English subtitles but in the end it didn't really matter. Loved the way you kept the passages played on each guitar short so it was easier to compare the differences. Now in my opinion they were both fantastic sounding guitars. The SRS had punchier mids but waht the EGB lacked here it made up for with the highs. If I was to use a martial arts kicking analogy the SRS kicks front of house kick and the EGB is round the house kick. If I had the cash I'd get one of each but with a cutaway. So for my next GAS attack an SRS808C is the current contender.
IMHO, the SRS808 owned the 808TE in this review. I have an SRS808 and love it to death for both fingerpicking and strumming. The AP5 pro is a fantastic pickup system too.
both are ferraris just different colours, both sound great and if you close your eyes there is truly only small differences between them, playing them might be where the difference will be felt/noticed
